Subject: Photography Tips: Thank you! For years the workings of a camera have been a mystery to me, e.g. f-stops and shutter speeds, and how they related to each other and the capturing of the subject... that is until I read your articles explaining everything. I would just like to say THANK YOU for presenting this information in a way that was easy to understand! I now have a new Canon PowerShot S70 and I plan to use its manual capabilities a lot more, now that I know how aperture and shutter speeds will affect my photos. Thank you again! Sincerely, Christian Willis

I took many great photos with both Canon AE-1 and AE-1 P; but had several problems; especially with the Program version. The shutter speed dial often turned without warning as it didn't really lock in place. The shutter button often malfunctioned and the shutter was released when advancing the film using the lever. The hand grip covering the battery compartment often fell-off and got lost. However, when the SLR worked, as it did most times, it took great photos! This website is good so owners can discuss these shortcomings.

The bells and whistles on your website shows you are a very capable web page designer. Top marks for that. However, for whatever it is worth, I'd like to say that after going through a few pages I got thoroughly tired of trying to figure where I should click next, and where it would take me to....

I'm still interested to know more about MIR and your work, which I have no doubt you are good at... but you need to make the site a little more friendly for people with very short attention spans...

But it is a very cleverly designed site...

Sir: It seems I've had a lifelong on/off relationship with photography. I believe that if I had a better basic understanding earlier I would be far more advanced/happier.

To the point - your (outstanding) site and info. have contributed more than any other sources. I continually use it for ref. research and tech. Many thanks,Jim. Janes Marsh,Carrboro,NC

Dear Mr. leofoo: Words alone cannot say the heartfelt thanks I extend to you for all of your hard work. After searching the net for information on a Nikon FA [my wife's camera] I came upon your site, yesterday. I have been in total awe not just at the excellant technical information that you provide but some of your personal statements.

Not only are you a credit to your country but indeed someone who, when you leave this crazy world, will have left a piece of yourself that makes it better. For freeman to meet on the level and share the gift of themselves is indeed a noteworthy art. You Sir, are not only a master of that premise but an artist. My day has been brightened and I Thank you for your unselfishness and extreme kindness.

Sincerely, Robert Dilger

Thank you and Mr. Rick Oleson for helping me find a solution to a missing spring needed on the camera door latch for my FTN camera. It was the key element needed to resolve the repair puzzle. Best Wishes.
