Needle shrimps (Stegopontonia commensalis) are specialised commensals, which only live on the spines of long-spined sea urchins (Diadema Spp.). Their legs are short for grasping the urchins' spines and for camouflage they line up their pattern lengthwise with the spines of the host. Back | Next
