Jehan Chan, Artist
Jehan Chan Yee Hing (his full name) has been painting and exhibiting for more than 30 years.
He resides Malacca and devotes all his time to painting
Jehan experimented with water color collage on crinkled rice paper in the late 80's. It was in the late '80 that he perfected the technique that enabled him to put together the Seascape Series which found an appreciative audience in Malaysia.
In 1992, Jehan started painting thc carps that he reared in his family home. He has captured their charm and grace with engaging artistry. And the visual poetry of a serene lotus pond has proved to be immensely popular.
In this series, the carps are regarded as a symbol of prosperity there are about nine of them in total.
