Dear Mr. Graham: Canon Inc. has asked me to inform you that the Canon T-5 was a private label version of the T50 that was sold through US military post exchange (PX) outlets. It was not a prototype of any kind, and it was never officially used by the U.S. Armed Forces. The T50 and T-5 were available from 1983 to early 1986.
Best Regards, C. Westfall Director/Media & Customer Relationship - Camera Marketing Group/Canon U.S.A., Inc.
