I am wondering about the value of my Lake Placid commemorative F-1N. I bought it with the following Canon FD lenses: tele (zoom) 80-200 f/4.5, a 24 mm, a 28 mm, and a 50mm. I also have 2X teleconverter, a bellows closeup copy duplicator. Also bunch of filters, Canon, Tiffen, and Hoya. I have an FTb with 50mm Canon 1.4 and a cheap Sigma soft focus lens. I have th eoriginal boxes, instructions and sales slips. Anyone have any realistic estimate of value?
I want to go with 4 x 5 large format and will need to sell the Canon F-1(n) system.

Hi everyone....well I must say that it is impressive to see such a following for the exquisite Canon F1N Cameras. I would like to add my 2 cents to mention that I a Highly priveledged to own a Canon F1N that I bought in 1983. Now everyone listen up big time.....IT IS MINT AND I MEAN MORE MINT THAT ANYTHING THAT MOST PEOPLE WOULD FIND. You cannot even find the tiniest of a ingle scatch on it. It is black and it's a Beauty.....not a single scuff...no brass...all the corners, and everybit of it is Showroom quality. I used to scuba dive with the intentions of taking it under water that nevery ever happened...motor drive is mint.....and sorry folks not ready to sell it yet. When times comes though it will be passed on to one of you people and I will be getting a high end digital Canon SLR. Cheers and thank-you kindly from Surrey, Beautiful British Columbia Canada. Hi @ all, I have just bought a Canon F1, but I didn't get a description with it how it works. Does anyone know where I can get it from very quickly? Thanks for all answers! Alice5. From : Chuck C. (chicoh@yahoo.com)

Great blog. I hope this hasn't been asked and answered 100 times. I performed a search and didn't see the answer.
I have an F-1N and I'm having trouble with the light meter. Being a novice, I really need this meter to work. It was working last week, but has since stopped. I assume that this is something that I've done that is easily repairable. All I've done is changed lenses and focusing screens. I have since changed back to the original [AE] screen, but that didn't fix it. I've also replaced the battery. and the power drive is fully charged.
Here's the deal: When I press to get a reading in bright sunlight with the ASA set to 500 and the aperture wide open, the meter only "jumps" a bit and settles back to the bottom. The meter only runs up to an acceptable [5.8] reading when I set the ASA to 8 seconds. Obviously, at 8 seconds, the resulting picture is just a bright blur.
To clarify, the camera itself works fine. When I guess at the aperture and ASA, I sometimes get a great shot, but that's no way to live. ;^)
Also, I'm having to "cock" [slide the movable lever] the lenses before placing them on the camera for the aperture to work. Is that normal?
Thanks in advance for helping a newbie.6. From : Robert Glenn Middleton (the_redd_groyne@hotmail.co.uk)

Christoph,
Do a Google search, there is plenty of information on this piece of Medical Kit. It is used for recording images of the Retina. I did give more details in a previous email, however the powers that be seem not to have posted same.

Hi, I have find a Flash Coupler D to my F1n, and I wonder if I need a cable from the flash to the body to make the flash work, I'm thinking of buying a Speedlite 155A for my F1n collection. So I wonder if this flash will work on my camera in manual mode mounted on Flash Coupler D. Regards Kent.
