Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
The Nikon FM Series is the longest serving model and the popular 35mm mechanical SLR in the market. In a series of fine camera design and manufacturing, Nikon introduced the Nikon FM dating back to 1977 which remains until today with a series of variations and updates. As every individual photographer has his own personal style to express himself visually while at the same time, maintain his own photographic equipment in a very personal manner, This section allows you to share mutual knowledge & experience among all Nikon FM series camera users. Some of the opinion presented in this site was very personal I hate to see them affecting a decision regardless it is an acceptance or rejection any of the models within the series. So, here is a section dedicated to all of you where you may also present yours. I do hope it is beneficial to all of you. Enjoy.

Haha.. NO it won't open by itself. You have to manual spring open the film back AFTER make sure it is fully rewind into the film cassttee. Yeap, don't feel bad by asking, bacuse that is besically a common question when the market is flooded with auto-everything SLR cameras. You have a good camera for many years to come. Enjoy and exercise your creative minds more.4. From : vincente (vincente13@gmail.com)

Hi Michael
You stopped using your FM2N over a crappy digital phone camera? Of all the comments I have read on this site this one is the most unusual. Either you have no appreciation for photography or your comment is not supposed to be taken seriously. The Nikon FM2N is one hell of a camera and was designed for people who require bullet proof reliability and exceptional results. The crappy digital phone camera will be out of date in less than 6 months and is not capable of taking photographs anywhere near as good as the FM2N, and no, nobody makes a digital back for it - thank God.6. I've owned an FM2N from new (ooh... 20 years? Could that be possible)and since my wife bought me a mobile phone with digital camera, the old Nikon's fallen into disuse (despite four prime lenses - 28, 55, 105, 135 and a 35-70mm zoom). Doing away with film is a godsend. No more waiting for a lab to process. Straight onto PC, Photoshop, print only what's REALLY good.
So... I want to ditch film, but love my FM2N. Anyone make a digital back for it? If not - why not? There must be millions of FEs, FE2s, FMs, FM2s, FM2Ns, FM2Ts, FM3s... Surely someone out there can do the technical bit to come up with an interchangeable back, giving 4-5 megapixel capacity, 2.5" screen, battery pack where the film goes...
Any one know?
