Title: Descending the steps
While I was shooting inside the National Mosque I happened to notice the steps under the balcony on which I was standing.
I was thinking the steps made a nice background if there was someone running or walking on it. So I positioned myself and
aimed my lens at the steps, carefully composed while hoping that there would be someone walking down or up the steps. All of a sudden a lady tourist
was walking down the steps hurrily on the way out and she was still wearing a headscarf although she had returned the robe earlier. It is the mosque's condition that non-muslim lady visitors
are required to put on the robe and headscarf.
I quickly snapped away upon seeing the walking lady and managed to bag a couple of frames but I liked this frame most since the lady was positioned
at the rule of thirds intersection point and there was movement blur to picture the hurry.
This picture was chosen to be published in National Geographic magazine in its special Your Shot section with the theme People in its
December 2009 issue. However the special Your Shot section is only available in its US version. I received a complimentary copy of the US version from National Geographic and here is
the shot of the page that published my picture.
