Arthur Teng, 49 years old is self taught in photography.
He works full time as Graphic Designer with Sime Darby Berhad. His favourite subjects
are landscapes, peopleís lifestyles, graphics and abstracts.
Arthur has won several photography awards locally and abroad, and had represented
Malaysia in two international photography competitions in "Visit Thailand Year
International Photo Contest 1987" in Thailand and "Image Hong Kong Grand
Finals Photo Contest 1990" in Hong Kong. He was appointed Nikon's Honourary
Official Photographer in Malaysia from 1988-1990.
He contributed towards a photo book "Eyes" in 1992. He published "Rustic
Malaysia - a pictorial journey" in 1994. In 1995, he was amongst 35 international
photographers contributed for another coffee-table book "The Philippines-A journey
through the archipelago". In 1999, he was one of the photographers commissioned
to photograph Petronas' corporate calendar 2000. He also contributed towards Concorde
Hotel Shah Alam 2002 calendar.
Arthur's images have appeared in travel magazines and books such as Going Places,
Wings of Gold, Action Asia; APA's Insight Guides series on Malaysia; Singapore, Indonesia,
Philippines and Kuala Lumpur; Wild Places and National Parks of Malaysia; Visitors'
Guide to Taman Negara; Exciting Malaysia; The Philippines - a journey through the
archipelago, Eyes. To name a few.
He has held 10 solo photography exhibitions, (including one solo show in Hersegade,
Denmark and one in Jakarta, Indonesia) and 11 group exhibitions.
