Hwang Shan, China

Hwang Shan (Yellow Mountain), Anhui Province, China.

Looks majestic huh ? The view was taken when I rust arrived, through the window from the hotel room locates at the foothill.

Great ? yeah yeah - until you begin the climb-up even after having the luxury of taking the cable car to the first stop up. IF you have decided to take the FRONT-to-the-other-END of the range - it could be one of the biggest mistake you have made. I did. The 10.5 km up& down the towering, spiking peaks here and there can easily test your mental and physical to the extreme. Naturally, after the first few km, one one has the mood to view the magnificent views present here and there - because the only thing you have in mind was WHEN and HOW to reach the rear section of the journal.

Personal advice:
TRAIN hard to prepare for it, This is NO leisure trip but if you are capable - you may reward yourself with all it has to offer. If you are a photobug, bring only the ESSENTIALS (I brought only a single camera with asingle zoom). Stay at the foothill (cheaper and plenty of good food - even at the hotel's own restaurants. If you are staying more than few days - spare a night up there at the first peak.
Tips: don't attempt to finish it within a day. Up the mountain can be no fun (pitch dark at night - no where to go). Avoid the tour guides, none of them are honest. Lastly, always ASK and clarify with the people who offer services to lift you up because most would change according to the price board but only referred to a short distance and the stated price is only meant for ONE guy (it takes two to lift you). there are MANY MANY steep slopes where you have to walk up and down, be very careful when there are people behind you especially going down, once one guy slips, the rest will follow...at leat, when you the first to fall, the people infront will stop you from falling down, hehe..so, come back alive, okay ?
