< Shooting Pictures >

After focusing, composing and checking the exposure, then shoot your subject by pressing shutter release button on the winder. Whether you are shooting in the single frame or continuous sequence mode, the functional check lamp will give a short flash with each exposure, and upon removing the finger from the release button, the winder will automatically advance the film and turn itself off.

WARNING: When using the RTW W-3 with the RTS II Quartz, DO NOT take pictures using the mechanical shutter system.

Vertical.jpg
<Vertical Position Shutter Release Button> Normally pictures are taken using the shutter release button located on the winder's grip top. However, at times when it is necessary to shoot in the vertical position, the vertical position shutter release button on the winder comes in very handy.

After shooting using the camera's AE Lock system, it is a simple matter to disengage the AE Lock lever to its original position using the little knob to turn the lever back down as shown in the illustration.

The RTW W-3 can also be used with the Contax RTS without needing any adjustment whatsoever. When the entire roll of film has been exposed, the automatic stop system takes over, stopping the film drive automatically and causing the functional check lamp to light. Do not remove the film from the camera until you are sure that the film has been completely rewound back into the film cassette.

Set the selector to "OFF". This will cause the functional check lamp to go off. While holding down the lever lock release button, apply upward pressure on the film rewind release lever. Continuous pressure on the release lever is not necessary.

< Film Rewinding > Unfold the film rewind crank handle on the camera and rewind the film. For further details on rewinding procedures, see the instruction booklet for your camera.

Once the selector has been set to "OFF", do not reset it to the "C" or "S" position before the film has been rewound for it will cause the winder motor to activate and forcibly advance the film, resulting in possible film damage.

<
Remote Control Photography >

The RTW W-3, not on/y allows single frame and continuous sequence photography when used in concert with the camera, but even enables you to operate the shutter release away from the camera by hooking it up to remote control system accessories, further expanding the capabilities of the winder.

<
Infrared Controller S> It allows remote operation of the camera's shutter release system with the use of its transmitter and receiver units. The receiver unit is mounted into the camera's accessory shoe and connected to the camera by means of a connector cord. By transmitting infrared ray pulses to the receiver, it allows completely wireless remote operation of the camera at a range of up to 20 meters either in the single frame or continuous sequence mode.

<
Radio Controller> It allows operation of the camera's shutter control system by means of FM transmission frequency at distances up to 300 meters. It has a 2-channel, 3-mode operation, enabling it to operate either of two camera bodies separately or in combination. And depending upon the photographic application, it even has the capability of allowing remote operation of a large battery of cameras simultaneously. In addition to the above mentioned cords, the Contax remote control system has available four types of Cable Switch S coming in different lengths (30 cm, 1 m, 3 m, and 10 m).

RTW Power Pack: This is an external power pack unit that is designed to supply power to the winder and camera while shielding the power source from the cold to prevent adverse performance effects when shooting in cold temperature areas.

The power pack unit itself is encased in the RTW Power Pack Jacket (optional accessory) and is connected to the winder by means of a RTW Power Cord (optional accessory). The RTW Power Cord is available in two different lengths of 1 and 3 meters.

< RTW
Ni-Cd Pack >

This unit serves as a rechargeable power source for the RTW W-3 RTW and the RTW Power Pack. It incorporates a set of six 1.2 V M-size nickel-cadmium batteries sealed inside a plastic cartridge, giving it superior cold weather performance over alkaline batteries and making it most suitable for application in frigid areas.
