The early days of the accessories section of the EOS system was still very fragile. I remember the Minolta which has an advantage of kick started the AF revolution with the Maxxum 7000 has the edge of a more complete solution in terms of the completeness in system components. However, Canon as more careful to select which were essential quality elements rather than provide in a number. Each system accessories were carefully chosen, purposefully design and aim to supplement the EOS users with more efficient and satisfying results rather than filling the table with numbers. Naturally, since the camera has two other flash exposure control modes, A-TTL flash program AE and TTL flash program AE, Canon did provide two immediate options in AF flash units to serve those who often works with artificial illumination. In fact, the Canon non-AF 300TL flash designed specifically for the Canon T90 can also be used and enjoy full Manual Focus TTL flash capability if the EOS 650 is not operative in AF mode.
