Three Canon AC lenses i.e. Canon 50mm f/1.8, Canon AC-Zoom 35-70mm f/3.5~4.5 and Canon AC 75-200mm f/4.5 zoom lenses made up for the dedicated lens group for the Canon T80 for autofocus function. Each lens was marked with a red circular ring at the front. Except for the 75-200mm zoom which still uses conventional front lens cap (C-58mm); the remaining two have a newly designed front lens cap (B-66mm). Each of these three lenses have slightly different configuration.

The standard lens is simpler. The 35-70mm zoom has a limiter for macro or manual focus setting; for zooming control, you need to make use of a separate lever to pull (up or down) to change the zoom ratio; as for the 75-200mm zoom, the limiter has been removed and replaced with a MACRO ring near the mount and the zoom function is via conventional pull and push mechanism. All three AC lenses were equipped with a 6-gold-plated electrical contact at the rear FD mount for date communication with the body section (aligned vertically in an array of six, at the left hand side inside the mount).
