My wife and I used OM1 and OM2 extensively (and happily!) from 1975 until about 2007, when we concluded digital finally reached sufficient resolution (at a price we could afford) to be a viable alternative. It's great to see this site where this great camera is being appreciated the way it deserves.
We stayed with Olympus (E series), but hold a bunch of OM gear that we'd be willing to part with very reasonably if they were going to an enthusiast to be put back into action. We've kept everything because of the memories and don't feel a need to sell. But if it brought joy to others we'd rather see them used than simply sitting around as collector's items.
Among other things we have a 400m f6.3 Zuiko auto telephoto and a 21mm Zuiko wide angle as well as adapters for attachment to microscopes, right angle viewfinder attachment for same use, a recorddata back, and a strobe handle adapter.
We also have most of the original body and lens manuals and paperwork. We are in U.S.2. From : Orsonlay (imbojay@ildway.com)

Hi Carsten:
I don't recall the red marking, but I'm not aware of any counterfeit OM Zuikos....6. From : Carsten (Bouldermonkey@icuknet.co.uk)

Hi Rick, hi all,
I have a quick question about the Zuiko 21mm 3.5. I'm looking to buy one, and am watching a few on the bay. One of them has what looks like an unusual marking on the aperture ring... The "21mm" label on the ring is not written in green, but in red. Have you seen this before? I'm worried about possibly buying a fake...
Thanks for any help with this!7. From : Michael Howard (accounts@onwarddisplay.com)

The aperture blades on my otherwise nice 28mm f2.8 lens have become a bit sticky.... they are slow to return after stopping down.
Is this something I could attempt to cure myself? Any advice would be much appreciated. I''m still enjoying my beloved OM-1 after 37yrs.

Hi! My mom just gave me my dad's olympus om-1 camera and his telescope. He is deceased so I can't get any info from him. It has been setting up for years and years and not used. I would like to know if it is hard to purchase a battery and film for the camera. I can't get the back open which could be because the battery is dead. Any info I could get would be very much appreciated!9. From : linda (laca41@aol.com)

Hi Andy: Yes, I'm sure that a diopter lens to fit the OM viewfinder would be hard to find, and costly to have custom made. My own approach to this problem is simply to wear my eyeglasses when using the camera viewfinder... this works for my particular eyesight, I'm not sure it will for yours. One thing that you do have to be careful about if you do this, is that with the extra space between your eye and the eyepiece, it is easy for stray light to go in the window and upset the light meter reading. Be particularly cautious not to allow bright light to strike your face when shooting against the sun.Maintainers for OM1(n) & OM2(n) Message Board:
