LEICA M6A (like a
M7 Prototype) Rangefinder Camera Model, 2002
Here is a very interesting Leica camera
which was auction highlight auctioned by LEICA Shop® via
their hugely popular Weslicht Auction House conducted auction. Although the valuation
was not comparable to many other rare and collectible camera/lenses but this camera
was both a M6 and M7 where it can only be defined as LEICA M7 prototype. The Auction
Literature has highlighted there were only 10 of these cameras sold officially by
the Leica company. It even came with a letter of authenticity from Leica Camera AG.
Approx. Year: 2002 w/S/N 000002x. Just as a reference; this camera has an auction
start price of EURO 9,000-00 while the hammer price is fixed at EURO 10.800-00* incl.
premium. Prototype camera sold by manufacturer is rarely heard of, as in most cases
prototypes which flow out of the research lab were usually handed to designated photographers
for evaluation of features. Anyway, here we have a unique original factory made LEICA
M6 body with an "AUTO" setting on the shutter speed dial. Meaning, it is
a rare LEICA M6 that offers auto exposure (AE) exposure control. At least we can
be certain this model has both black and chrome version where L&H
Auction, Hong Kong recently published a chrome Leica M6A at its auction which bears
						a serial number of 0000014.

						* NOTE;-
Indicative price(s) herein were based original prices published on previous auction
						literature/references.
Prices may vary according to gradual yearly premium, supply/demand equations, and/or
						other renewed valuation methods.
