A hundred Buddha Image

Hundred Buddha Images inside Wat Mek Prasit

Close view on multiple Buddha Images

Wat Mekprasit has a very distinctive feature inside. Some locals hail it as the temple with hundred Buddha. After you stepped inside, the left and right hand sides laid hundreds of cray made, coloured Buddha images. You may spot some are of different facial expression and image forms or origin. Perhaps this was special and even if I had traveled for distances in Thailand, Cambodia and Burma the displayed images are truly impressive. The only thing it lacks is the qualitative aspect. Wat Mekprasit actually hosts remains / ashes of the deceased inside the temple. If you are too conscious on this matter, you may feel a little uneasy but the practice had been on for the last half a century.

Wat Mekprasit Address: No. 102-A, Jalan Kuala Kangsar, 30010 Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia Telephone: 05-5062968, 05-2532968
