I think I just found out how to use this board. Anyway to Jim hindorf, Sean Deely and Jorge. I see that you are the only ones that apparently own a t80. Ijust got one through KEH its in exceleent condition however no manual. I just read a horrible review on the t80. Can any of you tell me is this camera really that badly designed. I'm thinking of sending it back. Any news good or bad would be appreciated.

I own a T50 canon, and was wondering what are the specs of different filters that i can purchase in order to use on my camera? thanks

  4. From Monty Montgomery (Sun Feb 13 07:12:59 2000 ):
Good news for Canon T70 owners! I found a place that services these cameras. Wolf Camera say they can repair the camera for $129 - this includes cleaning and adjusting it to factory specs. You can take your camera in to any Wolf Camera store and they will send it in for repair. I plan to take mine tomorrow. Hope this helps.

Wow, i can't belive i found this place. I've been looking for people who own and know things about this series of cameras. I inherited a canon t70 a while back and have since been trying to find advice on how to get better pictures out of it. When photographing outdoors most of my pictures seem overexposed just a little bit. Perhaps the auto exposure isn't working correctly?

  14. From Ruth Rowand (Sun Jan 23 23:54:56 2000 ):
I have been using a AE-1 and just aquired a T-70. I am looking for a shutter release for the T-70 for time release pictures and need to know how to (if I indeed can) take double exposed pictures.

  15. From Steve (Fri Jan 21 01:08:25 2000 ):
I have a Canon T-50 that I am trying to use with an inexpensive Sunpak flash unit. The flash is not synchronized with the shutter when using manual settings. Can the synchronization be adjusted or is there another way to get the system to work?

I know the battery check, where one, two or three dashes show up depending on the condition of the battery. It seems that the camera "thinks" that the film has jammed, although it hasn't. (Because of an mechanical failure?)

  17. From Adrian Meedeniya (Tue Jan 18 10:50:08 2000 ):
I have had long and very satisfactory use of my T70 camera. Unfortunately, I am now unable to use nor have the camera repaired despite identification of the problem. I was advised that the two plastic tabs which act as guides and retainers of the "main switch" contact plate, had broken. The contact plate being the stainless steel plate with gold-plated contacts, located between the base of the main switch and the circuit board. I have been advised that it would be difficult to repairand the local camera shops have been unable to help. Any advice?

  18. From Brad Flott (Tue Jan 18 02:46:26 2000 ):
I have a T50 which I bought new with several lenses and filters. It did and still does work great. I have a PROMATIC FTD 2500 dedicated flash unit with a Module "CN" adapter to fit my T50. Unfortunately I dropped the flash and broke part of the plastic foot. It still works but is loose in the hot shoe fitting on the camera. Does anyone know where I can get this module adapter or another Promatic with the bouncehead flash? Where could I get a CANON dedicated flash unit for this camera? Your help is appreciated as there are no camera shops around here to help. Thanks, Brad Flott

I have a Canon T 70, which has worked properly the two years since I bought it second hand. However for some months, the film jammed, seemingly not physically but because of an "error message". The three LCD icons representing the film in the camera's LCD display flashes, and the camera bleeps many times. Only rewinding the film fixed the problem, but it has now evolved to happen all the time. The camera simply will not do anything, except of beeping, and flashing those LED segments seemingly because of jammed film. What could be wrong?

  21. From Benjamin (Sat Jan 15 08:19:39 2000 ):
I have bought a used Canon T50, and the problem seems to be that the rewind button does not come out after I have rewound and taken out the film. Therefore the camera takes no pictures. I need a hint what might be wrong. I would be grateful for an answer.

  24. From Kai Pin (Wed Jan 5 08:47:03 2000 ):
TO PAUL: There is no 30-70mm lens, just a 35-70mm or 35-105mm in FD lenses. Try at KEH Camera Brokers at http://www.keh.com/ TO PETE STANLEY: About US$380 or less. They should not be more than this amount. TO JOAN and KASHYAP: Also try at Keh Camera Borker for any Canon lens, flash and accessory for the T-series cameras. The appropriate flash for the T50 is the Speedlite 244T although Speedlite 277T and 299T can also be used. The correct URL for the T50's online manual is: http://members.xoom.com/nemco/t50/contents.htm

I am looking to find where I can purchase a 30-75mm zoom lens to fit my T-70. I presently only have a 50mm on the camera. Also am looking to find out where I could purchase a command back for the camera.

  29. From Co-Maintainer (Fri Dec 24 10:37:21 1999 ):
The actual URL point to the Manual for Canon T-50 is: http://members.xoom.com/nemco/manuals/canont50.zip Just ONE line below the Word 'Mysterious user' .. and mentioned "Click here to Download" in RED, is the navigation that bad in this site or you are in a rush ? But again, I have to remind you the Zip file is 2.7MB, may need a little patience to download.

Guys, I just bought a mint condition T80 for my fiancee', it has both the normal lens and the 35-70 zoom. I am now looking for an owners manual, 75-200mm zoom and Speedlight flash. I have found the flash on ebay, but I also need to know if the 244T is functionally the same as the 277T? Does the 244 have the same infrared pulse for rangefinding that the 277 have? Any info is appreciated. Please reply to mustang-1@worldnet.att.net

I have owned a T-50 for quite a few years, this past Fall the batteries corroded inside the battery compartment. I cleaned it out as best I could but the camera will not work. Does anyone know if this can be repaired or not? Please respond to the message board here. Thanks!

  34. From Kai Pin (Thu Dec 16 18:01:01 1999 ):
TO ROLAND L. REDDEN & CANDY: Both of you can try Keh Camera Broker located at http://www.keh.com/. FOR STACY: Just read one of the posted messages on this page for how to get the manual. FOR LYNN: It means that when there are no lens mounted on the camera or if mounted, the lens' aperture ring is not set to the "A" mark for Programmed AE exposure -- a must for the T50 camera.

I am a camera-illiterate beginner with an old Canon T50 and want to know what it means when the red "M" is blinking at me. I read the manual and it says it means "lens aperture ring is detached from "A". I have no clue what this means. Please help ASAP! I'm desperate!

  39. From leofoo (Thu Dec 9 13:50:31 1999 ):
Rollinger Christian from Luxembourg introduced me to a Mysterous Canon T-users who has spent such an effort to convert both the Intruction Manuals for T50 and T70 camera. You can Click Here to download a copy in PDF format (Warning: File size is huge 2.7MB) or a more internet friendly HTML version (76 pages with gif images) for the Canon T70, just by Clicking Here will point you to the first page of the online manual. Bookmark it for your future reference. If you find it useful, please remember to send him a thank-you note.
