Hi. I have an older model Contax and I cannot figure out what kind it is. After looking at the pics on this site, I belive it is an RTS II. Anyone who is familiar with this...can I email you a picture of my camera and see if you can come to the same conclusion? Thanks

I recently purchased a RTS3 and was wondering if it is possible to achieve auto TLA exposure as a flash fill in sunlight, with the camera settings on Aperture Priority. Consulting the manuals for the camera and TLA 360 respectively, it appears that TLA auto exposure is available in the manual and bulb exposure modes only. EG: If I am taking a wide angle shot outside with a F2 28mm lens, polarized filter and using aperture of F22 in order to obtain maximum depth of field and the correct shutter speed of 1/15th of a second (in order to correctly expose the background as well as foreground)on Aperture Priority. The synchronized flash value fot auto TLA however, is shown at 1/60th of a second (blinking).

Do I have to switch to the manual mode and change the shutter speed dial to 1/15th in order to obtain correct exposure, or is it possible to fill flash a portion of the foreground on AV, somehow overriding the 1/60th flash synch speed? Thankyou so much for your time. Kind Regards, Rob

I just got Contax RTS from my friend and I'm planning to clean the internal glass of the camera body (it gets so dirty with time). I need more resource than just straigt trial & error. Does anybody happen to have the repair manual for RTS in digital form so that you can send it through email? Also all the paddings/foam on the camera have dried and broken. I tried to test on a film and the results are not good as I expected. Some of the pictures are a bit blur. Do the broken foams lead to the degraded pictures? The lens looks clean and I think the shutter works just fine. Thank you

Does anyone know if the standard back from an RTS II is compatible with an original RTS body? (According to info elsewhere on this site, the data back 4 is compatible with both bodies, so I suspect that the regular back is too, but I'd love confirmation). Thanks!

I own a Contax RTS (1975) model and am looking for a cable switch to accommodate long exposures (30sec and greater). I purchased a Contax L30 and it does not fit. I understand that an adapter is required for the RTS known as an R6SJ. Does anybody have these items, new or used for sale. Any help would be greatly asppreciated...its getting frustrating!!!

I have owned a RTS II for years and I thought Contax made some fine SLR cameras all these years (Not sure about their pre-slr rangefinder bodies). The optic are simply marvellous (I have 25, 100, 300 lenses). Anyway, I have spent quite a while checked through the website and I have to admit, that I was truly amazed by its content (Simple, nice graphical inteface is another of its strength). I don't know what is the objective of the creator creating this as I don't see commercial intention but anyway, whatever it is, he/she has done a GREAT job which I think deserves a lot of respect from me. Strangely, there are not many Contax users making good use of this equally useful forum. Hmm...Thank you.

I have the RTS system from about 1980.I love it,,,It has never let me down even from heavy use from doing weddings, at an average of 150 plus shots per event. I'd like to get the pro-grip motor drive, as I have the standard drive. Maybe the pro series flash unit would also be a nice upgrade... I never got around to getting a 100 - 300 high end lense. For Concert, and Racing events... So I have to thank all who made this possible...
