LEICA MP Black Lacquer, 0.58X (10304)
Rangefinder Camera Model
As I have stated earlier, due to narrower scope of users who intended to acquire
a smaller magnification finder type for their MP, silver chrome finishing is considered
rarer in quantity than universal 0.72X model. Personally, I would think minus the
appeal for eyeglass wearer, the telephoto-fit 0.85X model could have been sold is
lesser quantity than the 0.58X. But rarity originated from demand with different
reasons or applications may not necessarily add extraordinary premium over standard
issued models. Within the 0.58x finder Leica MP, black finishing is even rarer than
silver chrome. From the various official documentation published, I don't seem to
be able to find Leica offered black lacquer MP 0.58X as standard even back to its
early announcement dates (correct me IF I am not wrong here). But here it is, just
to patch a possibility of a Black Lacquer finishing LEICA MP 0.58X.

Somehow, black finishing camera on
frequent usage may present a little problem. They easily show sign of use. In a very
nice way to put it, Leica system brouchure stated this " ... And if the black lacquer starts to reveal a glimpse of the plain brass
at some of the corners and edges after long use, the photographer knows that he has
shared plenty of experiences with his camera...". Err.....
