Nikon M35s microscope camera w/AFM
Basically, it is possible to use Nikon camera with a microscope. Nikon has designed a series of Nikkorex / Nikon M35* for this purpose and approx year of production for these series of bodies was approx. from 1967. Nikon termed their setup for such application as Microflex. Nikon was already supplied such combination as early as back in 1954 with early Nikon rangefinder bodies. Terms such as "PFM" is the standard Microflex unit for photography with a microscope. Meterless, but it has a diaphragm and offers shuuter speed control from 1sec to 1/250sec. Microflex-EFM is a semi auto setup but offers longer exposure from 32 sec to 1/250 sec. EFM has meter builtin. The Microflex AFM asshown makes it more comfortable in operation. with meter ranges from ASA 12-3200 and AE control of shutter speed of 2 min to 1/100 sec. There are many other combinations from here. Such as CFM for 16mm movie mounting and PFMD for dual camera mounting and even has a medium format shooting etc.
* NOTE: M35 is the early, basic-sepc model while the M35S showcased here has a provision for either Full frame or Half frame shootings via the selector knob at the top panel.
