Nikkor 50mm f/2.0

A lens inherited from the 50mm f2.0 Nikkor-H. One of the most versatile among all interchangeable Nikkor interchangeable lenses. It weighs merely 220gms. Aberration had been well corrected to negligible level. It is famed for its high resolution and outstanding color rendition. Besides being an ideal general purpose lens, it is equally useful in close up utilizing a variety of close-up attachments and other close focus accessories.

But more importantly, this lens is an AI (Automatic Indexing) Nikkor optic. The feature incorporated with an enhanced lens mount which enables a new series of Nikon SLR camera bodies to accept a new range of Nikkor lenses which have a updated automatic mechanism for full aperture metering. It signified paramount of an era of the best for mechanical engineering in camera design, pushing designers' imagination and creativity to the limit during that period the rocking seventies. It marked the birth of the 2nd generation professional Nikon SLR cameras after the original
Nikon F, that accept the AI mount as an integral part of the system, This is the Nikon F2.
