Photography in Malaysia Community Section:
Public Discussion Forum on Various Issues on Photography

Share common knowledge & exchanging experience with your views on photography. I know the original Free Trade Zone section may has some restriction imposed on its content (only Buy/Sell Stuffs), but as requests are pouring in to create another section for other subjects other than buy/disposal of equipments, so, as much as I can offer, I have used the template for other existing message boards to create another section for all of you to use. As this is a non-profitable section, so I didn't ask our programming staffs to creste a dedicated thread-like format. I am not sure if this has served its purpose but nevertheless, it is a channel for all of you to utilise to express other thoughts on photography-related issues. A few volunteers have been appointed to edit the content as it requires. You may make use of this convenience here to present your own views. Enjoy.

This site is specifically created for common usage on photographic issues. Please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thank you. Since this is a non-profitable resource site - The developer of this site reserves the rights to censor or delete any inappropriate, unrelated, misleading or excessively hostile messages posted herein. If your intention is to dispose your photographic equipment(s) or its accompanying accessories or looking for a used model or any of its system components, please use the ORIGINAL FTZ section with a higher volume of traffic Free Trade Zone site instead. The Photography In Malaysia has no Guestbook on its own, because it is an integral part of the MIR site. But if you want to leave a note on your experience visiting this site, you may use the MIR's Guestbook at another new window by clicking on the Guestbook Link.

The respective Message Boards are some of the HARDEST hit section of the PIM site, if at any one time, the traffic is high - the table/content may take a while to load the data, just be patience. If it stalls, just click on the 'Reload' or 'Refresh' button on your browser menu once to re-attempt. Thank you.

Call for entries

The Garden Photographers’ Association, London, UK, is pleased to announce a ‘Call for Entries’ for their 7th international Photography Competition and Exhibition.

‘imagine yesterday... today’ explores the theme of ‘Heritage’ and is open to all professional photographers, talented and gifted and photographers, photography assistants and students, whose aim is to work in photography on a professional level.

Whatever your style of photography, whether it be fashion, food, photo-journalism architecture, landscape or garden photography, We are looking for unique and inspiring images that capture your imagination and record a moment in time, under four entry categories:
• Nature’s Garden
• Nurtured Gardens
• The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
• World Heritage Sites

Entrants are encouraged to explore the wealth of our environment and it’s diverse plant life from intimate details to wider views. We want you to capture emotive imagery on the significant role our landscapes and gardens play in our cultural identity today. Consider the passing of time, the effects of seasonal and climatic change; the influence of social or political issues; the stories our landscapes and gardens tell, and the positive or negative impact mankind has had on them. The work of our successful finalists will be exhibited at the magnificent Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, London, as part of Kew’s spectacular Summer Festival - from 27 May to 24 September 2006.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity to enter and exhibit your work alongside some of the world’s most talented and aspiring professionals.

With over £10,000 of fantastic prizes up for grabs, why not give it a go...

All Entries to be submitted by 20th February 2006

For detailed information on how to enter, categories and prizes visit www.gpoty.com or contact the organisers at: competition@gpoty.com

Greetings to all, I am very interested in expending my photography knowledge and would like to try to go for panoramic pictures. Does anyone know the price of a Fuji GX 617 (used with inter-changable lens) and if anyone is selling them? I know that Fuji no longer produce the 617, so I am also looking out for Fotoman 617 or 624 in Malaysia. Any info will be welcomed and I can be reached at rasksasa@yahoo.com. Thanks and cheers!
