Photography in Malaysia Community Section:
The respective Message Boards are some of the HARDEST hit section of the PIM site, if at any one time, the traffic is high - the table/content may take a while to load the data, just be patience. If it stalls, just click on the 'Reload' or 'Refresh' button on your browser menu once to re-attempt. Thank you.
Share common knowledge & exchanging experience with your views on photography. I know the original Free Trade Zone section may has some restriction imposed on its content (only Buy/Sell Stuffs), but as requests are pouring in to create another section for other subjects other than buy/disposal of equipments, so, as much as I can offer, I have used the template for other existing message boards to create another section for all of you to use. As this is a non-profitable section, so I didn't ask our programming staffs to creste a dedicated thread-like format. I am not sure if this has served its purpose but nevertheless, it is a channel for all of you to utilise to express other thoughts on photography-related issues. A few volunteers have been appointed to edit the content as it requires. You may make use of this convenience here to present your own views. Enjoy.
This site is specifically created for common usage on photographic issues. Please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thank you. Since this is a non-profitable resource site - The developer of this site reserves the rights to censor or delete any inappropriate, unrelated, misleading or excessively hostile messages posted herein. If your intention is to dispose your photographic equipment(s) or its accompanying accessories or looking for a used model or any of its system components, please use the ORIGINAL FTZ section with a higher volume of traffic Free Trade Zone site instead. The Photography In Malaysia has no Guestbook on its own, because it is an integral part of the MIR site. But if you want to leave a note on your experience visiting this site, you may use the MIR's Guestbook at another new window by clicking on the Guestbook Link.

I personally suspect he OR they are the same group, it is good to notice the moderators also took action to add highlighted comments, good work !

estimage has another winner from India
The winner is Abhijit Nandi
For the second year in a row, first prize in Festimage goes to India. This year’s winner is Abhijit Nandi, a fellow countryman of Arup Ghosh, last year’s winner.
Second prize goes to Frenchman Bernard Muller, with third prize going to Daniel Benito Machado Hernández, a Uruguayan creator of digital art living in Japan. The 4th place entry is that of Oleksandr Hnatenko, an Austrian of Ukrainian origin, and in 5th place is Spaniard.
The People’s Choice Prize was won by Sergey Kozoderov, from Kazakhstan.
The 1st prize amounts to 5.000 euros. The other prizewinners receive 2.500, 1.000, 750 and 500 euros. The people’s choice prizewinner gets 1.000 euros.
In all, there were 2001 entrants from 63 countries at the third annual Festimage, of which 1499 were accepted into the contest.
For the first evaluation of the projects we put together an Admissions Panel which included José Mamede, from Brazil, Juanjo Martín, from Spain, Armands Grundmanis, from Latvia, and Roman Voloshin, from the Ukraine. The scores awarded to the projects by this panel also determined the finalists in the competition.
The Final Panel, which selected the five prizewinners from among the finalists, consisted of Concepción Alarcón, from Spain, Edith Dedyk, from Brazil, Eugen Radescu, from Romania, Per Valentin, from Denmark, and Dmitry Yershov, from Russia.
After the Festimage finalists’ projects are reproduced on paper, they shall be put on display at the Cinema-Theater Gallery in Chaves, from 8 to 31 July. In turn, the works of some of the finalists shall be enlarged onto large-format canvas and put on display on a few façades on streets in the city’s historical center. At the same time, all accepted works will be projected on two giant screens set up in the city’s leisure areas. These two outdoor exhibits will take place from 8 July to 31 August.
Festimage is an event promoted by the City Council of Chaves, a city located in the north of Portugal. The entire event occurs over the Internet, at the site www.festimage.org, which comprises versions in six languages.
After three annual events, Festimage has had 5.217 entrants from 92 countries.
In these three annual Festimage, the majority of contestants has always been from Spain, Brazil, Germany and Portugal. This year’s Festimage also had a significant number of entrants from India, France, Mexico, Colombia, Russia, Romania and Georgia.
Festimage’s first winner was Colombian photographer Luís Henry Agudelo.
Who is Abhijit Nandi?
