Photography in Malaysia Community Section:
Public Discussion Forum on Various Issues on Photography

Share common knowledge & exchanging experience with your views on photography. I know the original Free Trade Zone section may has some restriction imposed on its content (only Buy/Sell Stuffs), but as requests are pouring in to create another section for other subjects other than buy/disposal of equipments, so, as much as I can offer, I have used the template for other existing message boards to create another section for all of you to use. As this is a non-profitable section, so I didn't ask our programming staffs to creste a dedicated thread-like format. I am not sure if this has served its purpose but nevertheless, it is a channel for all of you to utilise to express other thoughts on photography-related issues. A few volunteers have been appointed to edit the content as it requires. You may make use of this convenience here to present your own views. Enjoy.

This site is specifically created for common usage on photographic issues. Please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thank you. Since this is a non-profitable resource site - The developer of this site reserves the rights to censor or delete any inappropriate, unrelated, misleading or excessively hostile messages posted herein. If your intention is to dispose your photographic equipment(s) or its accompanying accessories or looking for a used model or any of its system components, please use the ORIGINAL FTZ section with a higher volume of traffic Free Trade Zone site instead. The Photography In Malaysia has no Guestbook on its own, because it is an integral part of the MIR site. But if you want to leave a note on your experience visiting this site, you may use the MIR's Guestbook at another new window by clicking on the Guestbook Link.

Again. Malu to ask - is a pen drive (the little mini pocket hard disk kind of things) good as spare gadget for photo back up ? Will it miss all the pictures ? One of my friend told his folder lost after camer back from Ipoh (should have burn in a CD). Anyone have similar experience in this ? the computer is a Compaq X1000 (the little hard disk is a Taiwan made brand).

Advance images is a very good local magazine. But sometimes reviews is too short (next, too many racing track girls pictures lah) but I am seeing more diverse topic on the late few issues, that is a good change, hope it can be even better in the future - I support sully on local photo journal(s).

"Repost" means price MUST be reduced from original posting(s). A few are still not following the guidelines. But good news is, at least they still used "Repost". Thanks or listening.

To me, anything more than RM500-00 is professional. So, must it be a red-lined product be called PRO ? tak ada otak...

Stop multiple ads of your so called "Professional Lense" ! it's not even an "L" lense, and you're not even dared to put the maximum aperture of that lense. Just be a honest seller for god sake. Malaysian buyers are all educated enough.
Canon EOS EF Professional Lense 20~35mm Ultrasonic, 77mm diameter, UltraWide Zoom, Excellent / Ultra Fast focusing & picture quality, Solid, look 99% new... Selling at totally lowest cost! RM788, last year priced at RM2,000++. - Wan - Hate_Spammer

I read the recommendation of portable digi-cam earlier. I like the Canon Pro1 too but the focusing is quite "noisy" (wehn left unattended, the sound gives you a very uncomfortable feel). I have not sure if the unit I tested was faulty. The lens is a super-L-series (equivalent to 28 to 200mm with option to extend to even longer and wider. The Nikon 8800 is another super digital-compact but the wideanle is 35mm, However, the ISassist 360mm is simply unmatched. Personally, I like to have a wider angle (Primary, without the need of extender). The feel of the Pro1 is much better but according to Canon, they might not be able to re-introduced another model in near future. Wish list: - May Canon Pro1 improves n the technical hitch (quiter) + redesign the 28-200mm to 10X L-series zoom to 28-280mm... as for the Nikon - make it wider at 28mm. Oh.. 12 mega-pixels would be NICE !
