I have a pretty nice all-black 1967 nikon f with the non-meterd prism and f36 motor drive. the body synchronizes well with the motor and it would seem to be a factory installation - but the baseplate of the motor is chrome rather than black. Is this a non-original motor, or were the baseplates chrome on all of the F36 motor drives? rick :)=

hi again mario: i just got home and looked at my f36: in addition to the 2 holes, there is a lever attached to the inside of the motor drive plate that is part of the shutter release linkage. the motor drive will not work without this lever, so you must have an actual motor drive coupling baseplate, you can't make one just by drilling 2 holes in a standard plate. also, fitting one of these to a different camera from the one it came on can be a fussy process. because there were no electrical connections, the mechanical linkages are responsible for all communication between the motor and the camera and alignment is very critical. rick :)=

I want to buy a motor F36 for my Nikon F. Visiting your site I have found that I must mount a different plate (also known as the "F Motor Drive Plate"), if I not obtain a replacement plate, can I make 2 holes of 2 mm. In the old plate? Is it the same thing? Can the F36 work? The holes is the unique difference between the two plates? Thank you, best regards Mario Portos

Hello, I recently bought a decent Nikon F only to discover that it was still sporting the unreinforced eyelets (or lugs if you prefer) and they are well worn, almost through. Can ayone tell me where I might get replacements (preferably the ones with the hardened liner), and a repar person that works on Nikon vintage cameras (preferably in North America for simplicity sake). Thanks in advance, Doug Currie
