Greetings from South Africa. I inherited 2 Nikon Photomic Ftn's from my father who used them quite extensively and I got good useage out of them untill the intgral light meter failed on both cameras. After an extensive search I was told that there is a large carbon disc in the light meter that is the problem. I was also informed that it is no longer possible to obtain this disc. Can any one help?

Is there also a database that contains information about the serial numbers on these cmeras?

Much obliged if anyone can help on either of these questions.

I'm a photographic hobbyist residing in the Seattle area. My 35mm Nikon SLR cameras currently consist of a Nikon Photomic FTN and a Nikkormat EL. In addition, I have collected these Nikon/Nikkor lenses, which fit those cameras: 24mm f/2.8, 35mm f/2.8, 50mm f/1.4, 105mm f/2.5, 43-86mm f/3.5, and 35-200mm f/3.5-4.5. At the moment, I am seeking any kind of copy of the instruction manual for the 35-200mm zoom lens. My attempts to get one through Nikon USA and Craig's have been unfruitful. I would be grateful for any assistance in this search. Thanks.

I'm looking for a Waist Level Viewfinder for my Nikon F which I purchased March 1964, SN 6535734. I just turned down the purchase of a WLVF that was for a slightly later model, as its fitting dimension was not exactly correct. Am also seeking some way to specify and identify the correct WLVF for this camera. The slot dimension on the camera top is about 19.3mm toward the front of the slot, and 19.6mm at the rear (the slot is trunkated slightly). The later F body, I have learned has a slot about 20mm. I don't want to file anything and mess the camera up or compromise the fit of my Photomic or the Pentaprism; nor mix accessories. Can anyone give me some insight, or identify where I can find a proper WLVF?

Help me!!

I own 2 Nikon F FTNs and 1 Nikon F2A. I am currently searching for a reputable source for service manuals for both F & F2 body AND the FTN Finder and the DP-11 Finder. I find sources all over the internet but I have never bought from any of them. Can anybody reccomend who/where would have one? If you know of any, can you please E-mail me the info?? And I also live in Michigan by the way.

Your help would be appreciated!!!

I own a F photomicT with a standard 50mm lens. I want to add 30-70mm and 70-300mm zooms to my collection. Will it be worthwhile to have these with the existing body. PL advise!
