I have a Nikon F with serial number: 6759599. I'm looking for some information as far as what the exact model name is, and how to do a couple of things with it. I'm having trouble figuring out a couple knobs and whatnot. If anyone knows about my model, please let me know for further questions. Thanks!

Hi Grickie:

Return the mirror lockup button to the "down" position, and then release the shutter again. The mirror does not come down immediately when you turn the button, but it should come down on the next shutter release cycle.

I have an early F , 64030xx, it is in excellent condition. I also have the 2.1 lens which requires lock up. I have just inherited the camera and it appears that the mirror stays in the lock up position....any tips?

Hi Paul:

I haven't dealt with this particular problem, but it sounds like it's located between the PC socket and the connection to the shoe. The URL link above is a sketch for removing the top left cover, you might be able to take a look and see if you can spot the problem.

Hi Paul: I just double-checked mine, those are the correct settings and mine does fire. Are you getting a connection at the PC socket?

Hi ! I have a problem with an Nikon F FTn; The display in the prism house has become loose or something; it has "wandered" away upwards and is very difficult to view, still it is working apparently allright. I would like to know if this is something i would be able to fix with your help. Also if this is a common problem with this model. Any information regarding this would be very much appreciated. Have just discovered your site and i am very impressed with all the information here, but am having trouble navigating my way around...
Thanks in advance & regards/Daniel
