Query re suitable camera/lens for jewellery photography: I am an amateur, own a Canon F1 body, and have been looking into purchasing a suitable macro lens for necessary documentation of my work. Having discovered this site and others I am led to believe the Nikon F2 would be a superior choice. My funds are limited however I require the investment for promotion/documentation of my work. I wish to make an informed wise decision - any advice appreciated. Although I already own the Canon (& Canon FD 50mm1:1.4S.S.C. lens) it is in need of repair as light appears to be leaking onto film. Thanks,E2. From : rpdelgado (rpdelgado@hotmail.com)

Is it safe to use the 1.5V LR9 Alkaline batteries for a Nikon=F FTN Photomic? I think that the original batteries were 1.3V. Seems to work with 1.5V without a problem (so far)....5. From : Cynthia (hedges01@sprynet.com)

I have a Nikon F black body with a serial # beginning with 6518***. Does anyone know what year it was made? It was my trusty companion through 17 yrs. of photojournalism. Even though I own other Nikons, it is still my favorite. It was sold to me by a old newspaper photographer who was my mentor and it has seen some amazing things.6. Ms, I happen to have a mint 50/1.4 from my F that I may consider selling to you..You must understand that this lens has never resided on any other camera body besides this F & I would prefer that my lens continues on an F body....Mark8. From : Lynne (lyn18xx@hitmail.com)

Does anyone know where one may pick out a fine Nikor Zoom that could be used for soccer and or baseball photos. Can these lenses be purchased at reasonable prices? Also I have a 50 or 55MM that extends to 135mm; did Nikor make a doubler for this and if so how much would I expect to pay for such a device? th Joh jtmj10. Anthony: Most of the times that the mirror sticks in the up position is because the mirror foam needs replacing. It sticky and holds onto the mirror, it an easy DIY job, look at my web page I have lots of links on there, look for the link camera repair supply or mirror foam and light seals. Good luck. Winston
