Some Selective Digital SLRs - Message Board/Guestbook |
Whether like it or not, owners of Digital Still SLR cameras have similar problems with computer users - the hardwares tend to phased out very rapidly & replaced with new models, while the ultimate goal of a full frame 35mm format with realistic prices, older models of Digicam may present some support issues - while I hope the creation of this Message Board provide some form of relief to exiting owners as well as those who may intend to invest into one of the used units as prices are more realistic as compared to many newer models. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Lastly, we can make use of this Board to learn from each other and share experience so as to improve our skill. As I don't have much time upkeeping as well as keeping up with so many new Digital SLRs that keep streaming up from the respective manufacturers; so, as for now, just treat this website as MIR's contribution to the Network for the photographic community. Lastly, please respect ownership of various brands and AVOID touching on sensitive topics (such as my brand is better than yours...). Enjoy. As this site is specifically created for this purpose - so, please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you. If your intention is to llok out or disposing your collection, you are also wecome to do so (as long as maintaining some basic ethic not to cheat anyone. On the Nikon D-50 is there a way to make the image show up on the LCD monitor before the photo is taken? (so that you don't have to look through the viewfinder). Thanks3. From : sammy magill (sammymagill@hotmail.com)

I am very much interested in buying a digital SLR,but not sure of what is important to look for.I thought that the number of pixals was the only thing to inquire into. I am now told by some that that is not the case, for the processor is important as well. Can you tell me what to look for so as not to spend my money on a camera and then find out somthing important later and discover that i have made the wrong choice.4. I have a Nikon N70 fitted with a Tamron AF LD 28-200 mm lens. I would like to buy a digital camera, preferably a Nikon. Can I transfer my Tamron lens to a new digital body? Will it have all the functionality it has now? Are there any reasons not to? Thanks.6. From : Robert Verreet (robert.verreet@gmx.de)

Sir, i thank you all wo contributed with those valuable informations about SLR's ( analog and digital) but i was not able to find someone here in Germany, even at the Nikon headquarters, wo could inform me about if Nikon is planing to built a digital slr with a full format (36 x 24 mm) sensor, wich would enable the use of valuable linses from the F4 and F5 models; as do Canon with the EOS 1Ds Mark 2 with a full sized sensor with 16 MP and not those silly APS-C sized sensors, with only 12 MP. This new Canon slr enables the use of the linses from the EOS 1N. Do you have some informations about this matter? Thank you in advance. R.Verreet7. From : David Aho (n9ttx@yahoo.com)

My father got a used Nikon Coolpix 990 and a few accessories for Christmas this year, but the owners manual had beed misplaced somewhere. Is there a source for replacement users/owners manuals as well as sources for the accessories? The Telephoto lens that he got with it does not thread onto the camera... an adapter might be missing. in any case, an owners manual is 1st on the list. He has been thinking about trying digital photography, and needs to understand how the camera works and such. Any help anyone?? Dave8. From : segreto (qeteshsegreto@yahoo.com)

Use the cable supplied with the camera, if yours is a digital camera, the card can be either in the camera OR use a cheap multi-cards reader device to connect. Some camera labels require their won software to mount - if you are using a MAc, it will atuomatically connected - even if there is no software (Raw files required). IF yours is a film based camera, use a film scanner (can scan for negatives or slides). Data is directly with your film/scanner and the computer, no intermediate devices in between.10.
