Some Selective Digital SLRs - Message Board/Guestbook

Whether like it or not, owners of Digital Still SLR cameras have similar problems with computer users - the hardwares tend to phased out very rapidly & replaced with new models, while the ultimate goal of a full frame 35mm format with realistic prices, older models of Digicam may present some support issues - while I hope the creation of this Message Board provide some form of relief to exiting owners as well as those who may intend to invest into one of the used units as prices are more realistic as compared to many newer models. Some of the opinion presented within the site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal. So, this forum is intended to provide a channel for all to make use of it to present your own individual views. Lastly, we can make use of this Board to learn from each other and share experience so as to improve our skill. As I don't have much time upkeeping as well as keeping up with so many new Digital SLRs that keep streaming up from the respective manufacturers; so, as for now, just treat this website as MIR's contribution to the Network for the photographic community. Lastly, please respect ownership of various brands and AVOID touching on sensitive topics (such as my brand is better than yours...). Enjoy.

Good day. Found this site by accident and based on the various dates on input messages, I would assume it is quite new. It is strange to find someone still have the interest and dedication to develop a site on digital oldies while the crowds are on the latest digital hot stuffs. Well, after browsing through the Kodak and Fuji section, I was very impressed by the detail of works and write-ups. This is a tremendous effort trying to compile various early D-SLRs in a orderly manner. It will remain as an important reference site on Digital photography one day. Thanks you.

First of all, Ithink the site is GREAT. This is useful for those of us who have missed the generation of the early Gigital bodies introduced by Kodak. However, it is sad indeed the Nikon still have not be able to introcuded a full frame Digital SLR despite the recent introduction of the D2X as well as the less desirable F6 where we thought it should be a "cheaper" full frame Digital SLR and also a full frame hybrib film/digital for the latter. Come to think of it, both are a generation behind the Canon now. The F6 is more specifially counter the EOS-1v rather than designed as a technologial forerunner, since when we see Nikon being so conversative since when you have turned everything electronic, you ought to be at the best to last another generatioin in its product cycle.. may be there will be a F6D when they finally manage to overcome the technological barrier they are facing now. But then, we may have to pay up to our nose that time, Hope I am wrong ..

Found this site via a link from Jwoods at the Nikon F4 board. I noticed there was a missing link for a Digilta Film Back by Kodak using the Nikon F4 chassis. I have tried to find via search and couldn't found any return results (strange to find there have one with a F3 and F5 + a N90(s) in their line ups huh ?). Anyway, I agreed, this is a nice infomation site for those early models. Good JobS !

Just wish to drop a few lines to thank you for the outstanding job you have done with your web pages on the various digital SLR bodies. I found your site by looking for information on the specific camera I intend to buy, and you have given me everything I needed to know. This is the web at its BEST and wish you can continue on further development of this marvelous site !!

Hai Leo, I am glad to have find out your new site. The more I browse through the various content, the more amazing I am - the Kodak's bodies are very detailed in its content (bonus links are the User's Manuals as they are nested deeply inside Kodak's site) as theirs usually have a out of this world's prices while most of us don't bother to take notice of it. I think the info for Fuji & the early Nikon Digi are quite useful as well as lately I was offered a E2Ns cheaply and I have no idea what (and why) should I pay for it as I have no idea what can it do for me in terms of value of $$). The site indeed provides a clear map for all its variations for the few brands as most of us are quite "lost" with all those early models - in fact, I was quite surprise to find an info on the Nikon F3's digital back here (minus the weak specificatons...). I know you are busy lately and never thought you can still allocate some of the time on this project which I am glad to see you back in action .. as if you are serious, no one is as good as you for doing these kind of things on the web !

p.s. you have mentioned you need help on the newer ones huh ?? why don't try the old method via Ebay again ??

Hello. I hope the creation of this website and this Message Board can be of beneficial to all of you in the future. As I don't have much time upkeeping as well as keeping up with so many new Digital SLRs that keep streaming up from the respective manufacturers, so, as usual, I can only featured selective models which I find them interesting enough to be featured here and/or viable to be considered as purchase consideration as an used unit simply because they may provide excellent value of money as compared to many newer, more pricey new models. So, as time permits, I will try to feature one by one if I can find the time and knowledge to do so. As for now, just treat this introductory website as MIR's contribution to the Network for the photographic community. Enjoy.

Oh .. I am sure many of you are good at Digital SLR photography. You can volunteer to be a co-developer or be a maintainer of this Message Board. Just mail me at "leofoo" + web URL.
