Modern Classic SLRs Series : Various Nikon camera models - Message Board/Guestbook |
Since with the inception of Nippon Kogaku until the current Nikon Corporation - they were probably hundreds of camera models as well as million of Nikkor optics being sold thus far. It is very hard to satisfy everyone intention when each surfer coming to this Pictorial History Website (first created since 1997). Over the last few years, I have constructed quite a number of sites featuring a selective Nikon camera models (Nikon F(based on Mike Liu's previous effort, the Nikon F2 series, F3 Series, Nikon F4, NIkon F5, the digital SLR series as well as the midrange models such as Nikon FM series, FA, FE series, Nikkormat/Nikomat and the compact EM/FG/FG20 etc..). Each of these featured model has their respective Message Board to support specific owner of each camera types. However, there are a number of very good Nikon SLRs (as well as the film and/or Digital compacts wer quite exciting too. But due to various reasons, I cannot featured them one by one. This Message Board was created just for that purpose - to provide a gateway for those that were not being featured. You may use it for whatever you think suitable - questions & answers (Q&A) or just make good use of it to share experience among one another. The use of this section of the photography SITE is not confined soly for this purpose, you may also make use of it for other photographic matters. Some of the remarks presented within the pictorial history site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal of your equipment. You may make use of this convenience here to present your own views as well. Enjoy.

Hi I recently bought a Nikon FG SLR and a 80-200mm Nikkor Lens. My daughter has a Nikon F55 SLR and attached the lens to F55. Even though the lens appeared to click into place easily it appears to be firmly stuck, and all attempts to disengage it do not work. The locking mechanism seems a little soft. Any suggestions? Would the risk exist that the 80-200mm lens for the FG is not compatible for the F55 and in attaching it to the F55 the connecting mechanism and/or body of the F55 have been compromised?
thanks

I have two Nikon 35mm SLRs that I want to sell so I can buy a digital SLR: an FE2 from the mid 1980's, which is an aperature priority automatic with manual focusing and a metal body, and an N70 from the mid 1990's, which has auto focusing with shooting modes and a plastic body. Curiously, the older basic FE2 has a much higher resale value than the more recent feature laden N70.
There seems to be a demand for high-quality basic SLRs, yet all the current Nikon digital SLRs are loaded with features and in a plastic body. Would there be a market for a simple, well-made Nikon digital SLR like the Leica M8 range finder, which is a manual camera?4. From : John J Burns (jobrika@yahoo.com)

I have the external flash for the 1968 Version Nikonos and need to replace the condenser and battery. I do not have the book on the flash so I do not know what condenser or battery to purchase.
They were removed when I stored the camera 20 years ago and now would like to get it back into service.
The camera takes excellent pictures but would like to use the flash in deeper waters.
Can anyone help me with this information.

Hi Charlie:
Could it be that you have a regular 2020 camera but with a different lens on it? A large number of different lenses will fit on the bayonet mount of the 2020 body.7. From : Charlie (shinycircles@yahoo.com)

Hi. I just bought a Nikon N2020, but the manual it came with is not the correct one. For some reason, my N2020 does not say AF on the other side of the lens, it does not have the focus mode selector, and it is missing the AEL and AFL buttons. Does anyone know what type of camera this is, compared to the normal N2020? Also, does anyone have a link to the manual for this version of the N2020? Thanks!8. I have acquired a Nikon N50 with the Quartz Date Panorama back and have no idea how to install a battery or how to operate the back. Do you perhaps have any instructions or a review of this item. The N50 as a Nikon camera works fine, as one should expect. Thanks

Hello, I have a Nikkorex camera case, a brown one with the name 'NIKKOREX' impressed in the front NOT horizontally. Does anyone know if it fits the Nikkorex F body? Do the various Nikkorex models have the same bottom plate (also with the tripod mount hole in the same position), or not? Thank you in advance for any useful information about.
