Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Various Nikon camera models - Message Board/Gu
estbook

Since with the inception of Nippon Kogaku until the current Nikon Corporation - they were probably hundreds of camera models as well as million of Nikkor optics being sold thus far. It is very hard to satisfy everyone intention when each surfer coming to this Pictorial History Website (first created since 1997). Over the last few years, I have constructed quite a number of sites featuring a selective Nikon camera models (Nikon F(based on Mike Liu's previous effort, the Nikon F2 series, F3 Series, Nikon F4, NIkon F5, the digital SLR series as well as the midrange models such as Nikon FM series, FA, FE series, Nikkormat/Nikomat and the compact EM/FG/FG20 etc..). Each of these featured model has their respective Message Board to support specific owner of each camera types. However, there are a number of very good Nikon SLRs (as well as the film and/or Digital compacts wer quite exciting too. But due to various reasons, I cannot featured them one by one. This Message Board was created just for that purpose - to provide a gateway for those that were not being featured. You may use it for whatever you think suitable - questions & answers (Q&A) or just make good use of it to share experience among one another. The use of this section of the photography SITE is not confined soly for this purpose, you may also make use of it for other photographic matters. Some of the remarks presented within the pictorial history site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal of your equipment. You may make use of this convenience here to present your own views as well. Enjoy.

This site is specifically created for any Nikon camera models , its creator. Please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you. Just made a great discovery regarding the sticky film door coating on the N90S/F90X:

It can be removed with a microfibre cloth and plenty of Isopropyl Alcohol. Just keep the cloth well soaked and rub gently. If the cloth starts to stick just apply more alcohol.

Ten minutes later I've refitted it and I now have a lovely, smooth new-looking satin finish plastic film door. The alcohol doesn't even remove the printing either, just the tacky clear rubbery coating.

It appears that Nikon first mould the film door then silk-screen on the white scene mode icons. After that, they spray on a matt lacquer, presumably to provide a "key" for the rubberised coating, which is applied afterwards. The Isopropyl Alcohol succesfully removes the rubber topcoat without affecting the underlying layers.

I hope other users of this excellent Nikon camera find this useful.

Good day.
The aperture ring on the mount flange on my EM body has become non-responsive.It does not spring back with the movement of the aperture rings on lenses.
Any idea how to fix, please?

Your webpage about Nikon cameras, lenses and associated equipment is interesting and useful. I have a Nikon FM and Nikon FG. The FM is my trusty never-fail workhorse and the FG I bought for my wife and also because of it's TTL flash metering feature. However the FG has an irritating and exasperating habit: the shutter sometimes sticks. The only way I can get it to unlock is to switch to the mechanical '90' speed, or bulb. This happens mostly when the camera has not been used for a while (such as a month or so). At first I thought it was because of weak batteries, but it happens with fresh batteries also. Anybody know why this happens? The camera has had very little usage and has probably less than 2000 shots taken with it so far.
