Modern Classic SLRs Series :
Various Nikon camera models - Message Board/Gu
estbook

Since with the inception of Nippon Kogaku until the current Nikon Corporation - they were probably hundreds of camera models as well as million of Nikkor optics being sold thus far. It is very hard to satisfy everyone intention when each surfer coming to this Pictorial History Website (first created since 1997). Over the last few years, I have constructed quite a number of sites featuring a selective Nikon camera models (Nikon F(based on Mike Liu's previous effort, the Nikon F2 series, F3 Series, Nikon F4, NIkon F5, the digital SLR series as well as the midrange models such as Nikon FM series, FA, FE series, Nikkormat/Nikomat and the compact EM/FG/FG20 etc..). Each of these featured model has their respective Message Board to support specific owner of each camera types. However, there are a number of very good Nikon SLRs (as well as the film and/or Digital compacts wer quite exciting too. But due to various reasons, I cannot featured them one by one. This Message Board was created just for that purpose - to provide a gateway for those that were not being featured. You may use it for whatever you think suitable - questions & answers (Q&A) or just make good use of it to share experience among one another. The use of this section of the photography SITE is not confined soly for this purpose, you may also make use of it for other photographic matters. Some of the remarks presented within the pictorial history site was entirely personal and I do not wish to influence any decision prior to any potential purchases or disposal of your equipment. You may make use of this convenience here to present your own views as well. Enjoy.

This site is specifically created for any Nikon camera models , its creator. Please don't mail me other than constructive suggestions or rectifying mistakes found in this site, thanking you. I have an original FG still in the original wrapper/plastic and Nikon leather carry case and box that it all came in. It also comes with an unopened and unused nikon lens that came with the camera. There is also and Nikon SB -15 flash unopened. It is in mint condition and has never been used. I'm wondering what the value of same is to a collector. It comes with all the original documentation and warranties.

Help my Nikon F-401 AF will load film and the AF lens work, but it won't take pictures. Is there some kind of a reset button that might help in fixing my problem.

I have a Nikon FG that I got in 1983 and I love it. When I used it in cold weather evidently the battery got too low and the shutter closed but will not reopen. I put a new battery in, but I still can't get it to close. This happened once before when I first got it and a camera shop fixed it but didn't show me what they did. Can someone help? Thanks

I think it was a TW-series 35-105mm super zoom compact, something like this http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/htmls/models/htmls/20012002.htm
it began to use Nikkor ED glass - elite class of compact. The link above was the latter version, I remember it was a black bodied unit (seen it somewhere in this site, can't find the link now.

With regard to the compact 35mm Nikons, which ones in the regular line (I'm excluding the 28 & 35 Ti series) had the nikkor spec lenses? Thanks

kostas dervos: Sure why not. I am not sure how much would that cost you but if you can wait a litte longer, perhaps you can take a look at Nikon D50 (used), D100 or even a Fuji S2Pro. I think good, used 6 million pixels items on Ebay may be around the cost of a brand new F70. for details, you can check http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/htmls/models/digitalSLRs/index.htm or other web resources.

for the gentleman who asked for the instruction for the F401/N4003, I think it is also at the same section for a link to the instruction manual for your camera. (F401 or F401x ? there are two manuals, look for yourself in this malaysian site.

Crystal: guess work too - the beeper is designed to inform the user of a alert in operational problems, esp. when it comes to exposure related issue (for instance, shutter speed lower than 1/30 sec. may cause handsake etc.). But I am not too sure if film loading process will it beep as well - if does, could be film loa is not proper or complete. I would suggest you download a copy of the instruction manual to find out (usually, warning is printed at the last page of the manual. For the copy, try the advice on download at http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/companies/nikon/htmls/models/htmls/slr8486.htm

kernow: your data back is a simple date/time encoding device. Doesn't seem to be an original Nikon accessory (could be third party). I am not sure because it requires an actual camera to fit - guess work tells N4004s, N5005s or N2020/2000 series.

I wander what is the difference between F 50 and F70. Would you buy a second hand F70 or F65 for your first SLR, (taking photografy lessons).

Thanks for your time.
