The Canon New F-1 System |
Modern Classic SLRs Series : |
It is indeed a sad state to see the FD mount New Canon F-1
has to retired from service this way; it cannot even enjoy potential
benefit to utilize the more advance electronic EF mount as with the EOS
users back in 1986. As a detaching system users, you may use this site
for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among
yourself. Ihope this convenience provided can be of useful to all of
you who still owned this great piece of manual focus SLR. You may use
this message board as a guestbook for the camera. Enjoy.

Bought my first F1-N about 1987. It was like a dream come true. I could never have afforded a new one (I guess it was not in production) on my salary, so saving month over month (about 6 or 7) till I had enough for a mint condition used. I loved it so much (and still do) that I would not trade one second away from her for a full year with M.Monroe !3. From : Chris (matterhorn@lanset.com)

I need a source for obtaining the three small screw-caps on the base of the Canon F-1N that cover the ports the AE power winder FN attaches to. Surely someone has a lead on these small caps? Any help with this would be appreciated. Thank you.4. From : Tom Gibbins (3chelsea@sympatico.ca)

The Canon New F1 is the finest camera I have ever used. Although the Nikon F2 Photomic is highly prized I find the F1 superior except for the Nikon mechanical shutter. When coupled with the power winder there is nothing finer. I will always retain this camera no matter what digital comes out. Good work Canon.5. From : Rudolf (rudolfo4@gmx.net)

I have two Canon F1N AEs but I'm at a loss to understand why one of the best F series FD cameras which was much more technically advanced than the current F1 of those days in 1973 , the EF, has been been completely ignored on this site as if it never existed.7. Would appreciate informed advice on the Canon FD to EF lens adapters (FD-EOS Lens Mount Converter) as to which, if any of the currently offered brands offered are worth buying. I've read some reviews which seem to run a wide gamut. Thanks in advance. FK9. From : Ford Kanzler (ford@prsavvy.com)
