Hi,my first time, be nice to me. My Canon F1 ser:131302 is currently in Canon Canada's shop in Calgary, after being butchered by Micki Mouse. They don't have the parts which are : an aperture needle(following needle) and a correction lever unit , which I believe is the aperture coupling between the lens and the body, thats suppost to spring up and down. Where should I look and what should they cost? While I'm at it , are there workshop manuals on line? Thanks from Ruskin British Columbia Canada

Recently got the 5,000th F-1 ever made.Yes! Exactly 5,000! It works perfect, though it needs new foam for the mirror. This F-1 was manufactured in February 1971. I believe the 2nd to 4th month of retail production. I haven't found early production data. I'd REALLY LIKE TO KNOW WHAT MONTH IN 1970 THATF-1 PRODUCTION STARTED???? Nice to see that EX to EX- F-1 still holds up after 30 years.10 longyears past Canon's support for their manual focus line. Too bad Canon abandoned all the manual focus cameras and lenses they made! I do wonder how many F-1 and F-1n's (out of the 400,000+ originally made) still work right? I'd bet a good percentage! All 6 of my F-1 and F-1n's still work right. I am now rotating them one Camera at a time, if the serial number is past 200000, one roll at a time, on my Winder F to keep them excercised. Canon needed to adjust and change some F-1 gears for use with the MF drive and I'd assume Winder F on the first 100,000 units. So if it was not done years ago, there is no getting the drive fix done now. They are amazing machines! I'd buy a T-90, but they are TRASH when the shutter fails! And the shutter does fail! Because of use ,and lack of use. Since its an FD body made through 1991, of course Canon abandoned T-90 too! SO... 3 cheers for those late 1960's Canon employees that created the F-1!!! The speedfinder is the best!!! Especially with my 20mm 2.8 you can see edge to edge. Nuff Said... Lindy
