users back in 1986. As a detaching system users, you may use this site

Michael Mitsch - Yes, the Power Winder F will work with the F-1 (but NOT the winder FN made for the new F-1). I believe you shouldn't attach/detach the winder with film in the camera (you have to remove the base plate and the film can get fogged). If the ISO speeds go up to 3200 your F-1 dates from 1976-81 (the 71-76 model only went to ISO 2000 and didn't have the plasic tip on the film advance lever. John Tobias - to date your F-1, take a look into the chamber where you load the film, you should see some figures printed (in black, helpfully!). The last character is a letter - Q=1976, R=1977 etc. up to Z=1985 - the date of manufacture of the camera (true for most/all Canons. Helpfully yours, Mark.

I have just purchased a New F1 and motor drive FN in mint condition. This camera is magnificent! Even though the camera and drive are in mint condition it is missing a couple of things. The original PC terminal cover is missing. Might someone have an extra one they might sell to me? Also, I'm looking for a leather eveready case and need to know which version fits my camera. I have a standard view finder not the AE one. I am also looking for an eyecup to replace the rubber ring on the viewfinder. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, JK3. From : john fusselman (fusselman@yahoo.com)

I have a Canon F-1 and on the body it is s/n 654875. It has shutter speeds of 1~1/2000 sec. and film speed 25~3200. Can anybody give me a little history on this body? I would like to get it cleaned up and restored and would appreciate any tips as to who does this in the USA.
Thanks!

I loved using my Canon F-1 for many years. But when my children became active in sports, it became too slow and bulky. I bought a Canon Ae-1 and really like it. I would like to sell the F-1 I have (which I received from my grandfather in 1978) but do not know its approximate value. It takes great pictures - especially portraits. Any ideas? Thank you so much.9. From : Henriette Cohen (tcplayer98@hotmail.com)

I have a canon F1 that i purchased in 1975. It is an incredible work horse and has served me well. However, the shutter screen is worn and I am getting darkness over half of my pictures. I was told that there are no longer parts to repair this camera due to the age. Does anyone know of a place that I can have the shutter screen replaced because I hate having to give this camera up.

Is Canon's 250 film chamber--designed for the original F-1--compatable with the later (last) version of the F-1?
Thanks.
