It is indeed a sad state to see the FD mount New Canon F-1

benefit to utilize the more advance electronic EF mount as with the EOS
users back in 1986. As a detaching system users, you may use this site
for common support and sharing mutual knowledge or experiences among

FANTASTIC SITE!!! I collect F-1s. Primarily F-1n. Though I do I have a super low serial number F -1, 101497. So its like the 1497th F-1 made. I was wondering whats the lowest numbers in private hands? A second question, I have focusing screen Y, yes Y, and its new in the" Y "marked blue and white era box. It seems to be a fast lense screen for use with servo ee. I do not have a complete servo ee to test my assuption. Its not in any of my literature,. But I want to know more about it... Other than screens A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I and Y , are there other ones I am not aware of other than the laser " L " versions of each. My Y is not laser. Thanks! Lindy2. I bought an F1 at around 1976. Its serial number is 548308. When I bought it it was supposed to be the newly
redesigned F1. I would like to buy amotor drive for it but I am not sure which is the drive used by my F1.
Can anyone assist me identifying if this is the F1N or what and the type of motor drive that I need?
Thank you

John Phillips - take a look at message 51(?)currently on Page 5 of the archives, you need to look inside the camera to check the age of the camera. (You'll understand if you read the posting!). Cheers, Mark.7. From : John Phillips (jphillips@covantaenergy.com)

Hi -- I recently purchased an old style F-1 with a serial # in the low 300k. Anyone know about when it was manufactured? Any maintenance/reliability tips for this age? Thanks8. From : Don Boyd (donaldboyd@rcn.com)

I have a Canon F1n (made 1977) that badly needs cleaning, lube, adjustment and re-foaming at least at the mirror. Would appreciate any and all recommendations for a repair shop for this fine old camera. I want to restore it to as near new condition as possible. I live near Wash DC but can mail anywhere. Prefer the USA. Please email me favorable experiences with repair shops. Thank you in advance for your time. Don9. From : Don (donaldboyd@rcn.com)
