benefit to utilize the more advance electronic EF mount as with the EOS
users back in 1986. As a detaching system users, you may use this site

Greetings from Scotland. Just came across this site. I bought my F1 when I was 19 and now I am 45. It is the only 35mm camera I have owned. Outstanding in every way. In Jan 2004 I visited Manitoba. Most days it was -32 but one day went down to -40 with a -50 wind chill factor. The F1 was covered in frost and never missed a beat. Why go digital? I scanned in the negs when I returned - 64mb scans first time. The FD lenses are outstanding.3. From : Conrado (conrado@locz.com.br)

I've had my F1n since new in 1984 (Olympic Edition) and LOVE it! Just got it completely gone through by Canon last year (took them twice to get it right!). Now looking for a couple of S finder screens to make it complete. Coupled with the MegaBlitz flash it can catch anything at night. Did some killa night slide photography in Bejing a while ago.7. I have a Canon waist-level finder with pop-up magnifier for the F1. It has no electrical contacts. Is this piece compatible with both the original and New F1? Thanks for your help. Dan9. From : b davis (bridav2002@yahoo.co.uk)

I hear quite a lot about the battery needed in order to activate the meter of the F1 and the Olympus OM1. To my surprise my local camera shop has a regular supply of these rare 1.3v batteries. The manager assures me that he has a reliable supplier.10. I bought a Canon F1 in very good condtion, plus 50mm and a 35mm lenses, at a ridiculously cheap price in a local cash converter's shop in my home town. My first impressions were of its weight and solid quality - very different from my Olympus OM1! But as I played around with it and put through a few rolls of film I began to realise what an excellent piece of photographic engineering it was. It grows on you! When I took some shots using Kodak slide film I was impressed with the the accuracy of the inbuilt meter, even though the camera must be about two decades old. the only thing that fazes me at the moment is the probable high cost a full service if ever this became necessary. UK costs are high compared with the States
