To C. Haupt: Low LCD contrast is normally a sign that the batteries should be replaced. If not helpful, the LCDs must be replaced. Regards Hermann Graf

To Spike: You can try the following: Switch off and disconnect the MD-4 from the F3, close camera back of the F3 (no film inside), swith F3 on (red dot visible), check for battery power, actuate the film advance crank, if possible (do not apply any force), press the shutter relase button, and repeat several times. If this does not help, take the batteries out, wait a while and put them in again , and repeat the procedure. Regards Hermann Graf

Hi, I have a F3HP and the LED display lost contrast. It's difficult to see the time if the light isn't very good. In an other F3 I saw that normaly the display shows a good contrast. Does someone know if it is possible to fix this problem? Thanks, Christian

To owners/buyers of used F3-MD4 combos looking for the body MD coupling cover: the AA battery holder of the MD4 has a slot to hold the coupling cover. If you are lucky that is where the previous owner would have stored (and forgotten about) it. I would look there first! Cheers.

hi there- i bought an m3 with and md4 and a lovely 50 1.4 lens. only thing is, i didn't get the motor drive cap for the body- i wouldn't care- i knew i needed one and i was told mine had one. but when i got the camera i got carried away using the md4 and forgot to check. so now i come to take the drive off and remember i haven't got one. can anyone help? also, i'm looking for a nice flat lens so i can make my f3 more stealthy. i'm aware of the 45 2.8p but would love something a bit faster and a bit wider. anyone do anything interesting to acheive this? thanks a lot.

hi,i've posted a message to the wrong board, sorry. so i'll post it here instead! i've got an f3 and md4 and was just wondering if you could answer me the following question to put my mind at ease? , if i take a picture with the md4 attached,it obviously advances to the next shot,if i then turn the md4 off,is the shutter on the f3 still 'cocked' so to speak and if so will it do any damage if i don't shoot for days/weeks? , also i've got a metz cl45 flash gun and according to the instructions of the sca 344 adapter,if i want to shoot manual flash, the f3 still needs to be set on A ,what if i want to shoot in dim conditions and expose for the background while providing foreground illumination, surely i can select shutter speeds of less than 60th second? i know i've gone on but a reply would be most appreciated, thanks in advance, aidy.

Hello, I have an F3 that I got from my dad. I had loaded some film and took some pictures today. I finished the roll and so I wound it up and took it out with the md-4 motor drive. After that I tried loading in another roll of film. First I pulled the film over the shutter and had the little teeth catch the film. Then I cocked the film adcance lever and pushed on the shutter release button to advance the film and make sure it caught on. But it looked like the film was jammed and not loaded correctly so I took it out. After that the shutter film advance lever will not cock anymore. Can someone tell me what may be wrong? Thanks.

Great thanks to you for your famous homepage. Yesterday I bought a used Nikon F3HP/T - it is my first professional camera. But it comes without instruction manual - so I found it on your homepage.

With best regards to you from Germany and please continue your work at your homepage for a long time. Yours sincerely Reinhard Kropp
