Your Questions:-
1) Is the meter a needle-meter?
2) Will the TTL function work if I attach a Nikon Speedlight SB-24

1) No. Meter display in Nikon F3 uses a simple LCD type (U will luv this) but basic function is the same and simpler, easier to read.

2) A NO and a YES. NO. the flash foot of SB-24 deoesn't match the accessory shoe of the Nikon F3. If you use other cables or flash coupler, hence, only auto and manual flash is possible. TTL is not possible in this setup.

Yes - TTL flash is restored when you use the newer AS-17 flash coupler (Or the older AS-7), attach onto the accessory shoe, put on your SB-24 and BOTH couplers of which will provide enable standard ISO flash foot flash like SB-24 etc. to revert back to TTL flash for the Nikon F3HP. Read

Hi, I have been offered to buy a F3HP. I haven't seen the camera yet. From online manuals and reviews it seems to me the camera will be very suitable for me. There are two things I need to know. If anyone can give me some info that will be great help.

1) Is the meter a needle-meter?
2) Will the TTL function work if I attach a Nikon Speedlight SB-24 Take Care

Dennis: the AS-17 can only be used on the F3. It allows TTL flash on the F3 from any TTL-enabled flash. Good luck! Mike
