Joe, The F3AF is not exactly rare, but you don't see that many for sale at any given time. One for sale on-line was listed for about $925-950 in EX+ condition, so yours may be worth $850-900 in EX condition. Walt

Hi, I own an F3/T which I love. I recently ran into an F3AF in EX condition. Is it rare? Does anyone know about what it is worth? Thanks for any info! Best, Joe Kelly j2kelly3@swbell.net

Allen, Congratulations on becoming an F3HP owner. I know you will enjoy it. As for lenses, I would recommend a Nikkor 28mm f2.8 and a Nikkor 105mm f2.5. The 28mm is a moderate wide-angle good for landscapes and the 105mm is a mid-range telephoto which is also an excellent portrait lens. These lenses provide a combination of good value and performance. They are available on the used market for approximately $200.00 each, in good to excellent condition. Walt

I have recently acquired an F3HP after using Nikon AF equipment for about 2 years. What a refreshing change! The greatest thing about this camera is that, unlike my N80( which is a good camera in its own right), the F3 can meter super long night exposures very accurately, and I do mean long! How about four and five minute AUTO exposures that are exposed perfectly! Just set the camera to the A setting, compose your shot, close the viewfinder blind and trip the shutter - it's that simple. I will be posting some of my shots soon so you folks can see what I am talking about. Best $300 bucks I ever spent. This camera will be passed down to my children, and their children's children. No digital camera will ever last as long as this, or take better pictures...

I have a used F3 with motor drive. I'm having a difficult time getting an accurate focus with the manual lenses. If theres anybody out there who can offer some help, please do. What is the best screen overall? I have a 50 mm 1:1.2, 105mm F/2.5 and 100-300mm F/5.6. Thanks.

The viewfinder lever switch (not the axle)on my F3 has broke off is there anyway to unscrew the old axle and replace it with a new axle and switch.

Laura, Regarding the PC shutter board for the N2000, depending on what the repair guy planned to charge you, it might be less expensive to buy a replacement whole N2000 from KEH, B&H, Adorama or even ebay. Used N2000s rated at 8+ condition seem to go for about $120-$180 US. Ebay seems to be the least cost, but you rely on the seller's representation of condition. The non-US designation for the N2000 is F-301. You might also be able to find an inoperative N2000 from these sources, buy it and strip out the parts you need. I have a N2000 I purchased new in 1987. Now I use it as a back up to my F3 or where I don't want to risk losing/damaging the F3. Never had a problem with the N2000. Tough and reliable. IMHO, it is a highly underrated camera
