Michael, Based on the serial number, your F3 was made in the late summer or early fall of 1981. Since Nikon doesn't keep or share info about manufacturing dates, this information is based on new camera sales and may be off a little, depending on how long a camera sat in a dealer's showroom. Hello just bought a very used F3 with serial 1741445 - can anyone help me with production date? The screw for fastening a eye-piece correction lens is distorted - does anybody have a method to recommend for mending it? best regards Torbjorn6. From : Ingmar Hindenes (ingmar.hindenes@wilsonship.no)

Mario, Re your question about non AI lenses for F3. Yes these can be used in stop down metering on your F3. But you have to flip up the AI aperture copler on the camera body or else you may harm the camera. Brgds Ingmar Hindenes7. From : Con Denvir (cdenvir@eircom.net)

I bought a F3HP with MD4 recently and I like the camera very much both with and without the MD4. However, I have run into a problem recently. The camera won't fire when I use the release button on the MD. But the MD does wind the film to next frame when I use the release button on the camera body itself. Is it something I do wrongly, or do I have to send the outfit to a repair shop? Brgds Ingmar Hindenes9. From : Mario Guel (mariosjsk8@hotmail.com)

I am wondering, I aquired a good number of Non AI lenses with a Nikon Photomic FTN and was wondering if the Nikon F3 could accept these lenses and have step down metering. Please let me know, if not what other Nikon cameras besides the early Nikkormats and Nikon F(1)'s. Thanx10.
