Is there any benefit of purchasing a Canon F1n Los Angeles edition over the plain F1n? Further is the camera worth having as the FD mount has been discontinued by Canon. Is there any problems with getting it serviced if I need a service? Any replies will be very helpful.

Daniel, you will not find a manual available on the internet ... but you can obtain one if you keep an eye on eBay. I picked up one and it has saved my F-1n (after a rainstorm).

Hi, what a great forum i must say. i am currently using F-1 AE w/md and my fave lens would be my 20mm, 50L, 85L, 28-85f4 for my event shoots and 100macro. But recently my 299T flash died on me, Canon Service Ctr refuse to take on the job. Pretty much devastated after serving me all these years. Though I still got my 577G, i need a more handy one. I am not gonna buy a 2nd hand T-series flash, not risking it so ....what is the nearest thing that i could buy brand new and be as compaitable to my F-1? Any kind souls out there who could share?

We even set up a side group for those who ebjoy "Banter" or just typing thing that have nothing to do with cameras keeps the main group more or less tight on topic. you can find it at. Enjoy.

This is a MARVELOUS effort ! I didn't expect such a fine work existed just "made" specifically for the camera that I have been using for the last twenty years or so. The new f-1 is a superb camera and its is so much fun to use in various combinations with the various system accessories. Although it is aged by modern standard but I think it can still easily be ranked as one of the best MF SLR that ever designed for 35mm SLR photography. Thanks to all who are spending time maintaining this highly informative forum, I have picked up a few good tricks from the various inputs as well, regards from the sunshine states !
