Hello Folks! this is one great site! I would desperately like to know the year when my new F1 is made. I hope someone knows how to read those numbers. The serial number in the back of the body is: 186016 and inside the body(in the film chamber) there is: W1219 does this tell you anything? Thanks and happy new year -micke-

Does anyone have maintenance information for the FN finder? I thought mine had simply gotten some dust between the fixed and rotating sections; turns out it is really rust particles I'm seeing!

I recently bought a New F1 with both the power winder FN and the motor-drive FN. I understand that this will allow me to shoot in shutter priority mode. However, even with the motor-drive or the winder attached, I'm unable to turn the aperture ring on the lens to the 'A' mark unless the stop-down button is engaged (with the button extended showing the red line). I've tried a number of new-FD lenses and they all behave this way. Is this normal? The manual mentioned nothing about the stop-down button.
