Wayne! The original F! has a 1,3volt mercury battery that fits in a chamber under the camera. Turn the camera and remove the cover with a coin. The F-1New has a 6V battery placed in a chamber in front of the camera at the left hand side of the lens. The cover with the handgrip can easily be removed. Push the litte button on the lower side and the cover releases2. From : Wayne L Womack Jr (iceboxx1953.7@netzero.net)

This message was posted before, but I cannot find any new reference. Has anyone seen any digital/electronics (backs or other) for the F1N? Also, my light meter broke for about a year-now it works fine. I still need to get the motor working again. It is the ni-cad pack. Does anyone know a good way to test these 2 pieces? Thanks for your response.4. From : Lindy (adkinstone@earthlink.net)

RE: Speed finders availability. I live in Melbourne, Australia. So that is where I found my speedfinder. I know of 2 others for sale in the melbourne at the moment. One is attached to camera the other is in it's plastic case in one of our local pro 2n'd hand shops. They are probably x australian navy. A few at KEH camera brokers online website too. I paid about $250 AUS. Which is about $450 US I think. I'm still looking for an AE finder. Cheers Simon7. From : Andrew Lam (asklam@pc.jaring.my)

I didn't know speed finders were easy to get; have been looking around without any success. Any suggestions or advice on where I can get the Speed Finder FN?
Thanks.

Hello all,
I am looking for an AE Finder for my new f1. Eye level finders and speed finders are easy to pick up but I can't find an ae finder on it's own. If anyone has one that they wish to part with please contact me.
thanks

After a couple of years of using digital cameras for web and desktop publishing, I recently used my F1 ( 1980 Lake Placid edition with F Winder) and fell in love with it again. A real camera... works beautifully of course... had the film processed on CD so I have the best of both world. digital convenienence and real camera quality. These Sonys digitals aren't going to see much use now on...
Before that, I was tempted to get one of the new (and expensive )digitals, but instead I just ordered a New F1 ( 1984 olympics edition ) with AE finder and AE Motor FN from KEH ( I also found that site here...).
I also have an AE1 ( graduation present in 76 )...
A big huge thank you to Leefoo for this wonderful site. Very Very well done, and the amount of information is just unbelievable ! Sites like this help keep those great cameras alive. THANK YOU !
I can't wait to receive that New F1, should come in handy 2 weeks from now at the US GP @ Indy...
