I recently bought a EOS1 and absolutely in-love with it. I m not a pro and not even an amateur photographer.
Your site did a great service to newbies like me by posting a helpful manual/guidance on the EOS1, thank you.
What I did ryesterday was an attempt to clean a speck off the focusing laser mat screen, but accidently touched the mirror.
Now the camera will focus but shutter will not engage. It reads "bc", like the blue screen of death in Windows.

Question to all you good people is that to recover from such a mistake, will I have to sell my car and get a second mortgage?
The minimum look-at fee at the corner camera repair is $30.

Thanks for your kind attentions.

Fd to Eos adapter, Non- canon, due to rarity and Cost of origianl. Many for sale on internet yet I'm very skeptical about quality and performance.

Has anyone ever truly tested their claims or value? Any recommendations, or helpful hints.

Thanks and much appreciate your welcomed site.

Cats,
The Canon S5 IS can only be used with Canon's own Speedlites 220EX, 430EX, or 580EX. Canon's high power flash HF-DC1 is also useable in advanced E-TTL mode.

The EZ-series flashes were designed for the film-based EOS bodies with 3 to 5 focusing points, linked to the flash.

Hi: I have a Canon 420 EZ flash. Do you know if it can be used with my Canon S5 IS? Thanks.

Christian,

I may be wrong, but can I assume you mean the number of exposures (v.i.z., shutter trips) made on the EOS 1N? If my assumption is correct, Canon service technicians can obtain this information from a device attached to the camera's hot shoe that reports on the number of exposures made and overall number of rolls passed through the camera, among other details reported by the camera at bench-top servicing.

Would you please tell me how you check the number of shutter release on a Canon EOS 1N ? Best regards.

Christian,
Are you using the EOS 1 or the EOS 1N? There is no provision on the EOS 1 switching on or off illumination of the AF point; on the EOS 1N, this is controlled by custom function #10.

Check the camera battery, lens and mirror-box contacts and also press the white CLEAR button in side the palm-side door to reset the camera.

Given the age and pro-working history of the EOS 1 I strongly advise having bodies thoroughly examined at service.

Hello,

I hope I'll find some help here. The AF point LED of my EOS 1 doesn't light up any more. I tried it with another lens - it's the same. So I bought another EOS 1, but it is still the same. I don't know what to do...
