I am looking for 2 parts of my EOS 700. They are: the reversible selector dial and the threaded fastener the affixes the selector dial to the body. Pls advise via e-mail. THX2. From : Co-Moderator, Gary Rowan Higgins (silent-street@_remove_this_ncable.net.au)

Thanks, Gary.
I've checked and re-checked the mode and it is in M (manual) mode. I was wrong, it is blinking "bc" which I know is the battery. I've checked and even changed the battery and it still won't release the shutter and "bc" continues to blink. I've also tried to remove the battery and re-insert it, but still the same. I've read the online manual and still cannot seem to get this camera's shutter to release. I was trying to avoid taking it to a camera shop but perhaps there is something wrong with it. I am frustrated and eager for any assistance. Thank you kindly.

The battery is exhausted. Remove the battery (or batteries from power drive booster E1 if fitted). When the 'bc' is blinking, the battery is finished and nothing will happen until a fresh unit has been installed. Then press the 'Clear' button on the right side grip to reset the system (after new battery installed). Go to it. :-)3. From : Photography Student (imhungry72@hotmail.com)

I have just be given an EOS-1 as a hand-me-down. Unfortunately, it did not come with a manual. I am used to my fully manual AE-1P and not very familiar with using an AF SLR. I can focus but when I try to shoot the shutter will not release and the display flashes 'bulb'. I've tried shooting in Auto and Manual modes and still cannot get the shutter to release. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like this is because bulb has been selected through the Mode control. On the EOS 1/1N, turn power on and hold down the Mode button on the left side top panel while rotating the control dial above the grip; this will cycle you through the modes, of which "bulb" is one of them (the rest being P, Tv, Av and M for Program, Shutter speed priority, Aperture priority and Manual, respectively).
Manuals for the 1/1N can be downloaded from this site.5. From : Photography Student (imhungry72@hotmail.com)

Question: I hope this is an appropriate place to ask. I am a total novice with a problem. I have a Canon Rebel 2000 EOS (second hand)camera. I purchased a Tamron SP 24-135 lens from a store that was going out of business that day! It was a used lens. They tested it in the store and it worked. At home, it:
(1) makes a whirring noise when I attach it to the camera (matching the red dots). This noise only stops when I push the button to take a picture.
(2) When I push that button, the shutter closes but will not reopen when I repush it.
Advise, please. Thank you.

Not bad for a store to sell you what sounds like a malfunctioning 2h lens the day they are closing down! Seriously, see if you can try another lens (preferably one of Canon's) on the camera, and see what happens. If the Canon lens works on the Rebel, the problem is with the Tamron lens. Canon did *not* licence EF lens technology to Tamron or any other third party lens manufacturer, so putting a Tamron or other brand on a Canon body can be unpredictable; I've never done it in 20 years of using Canon. Get in touch with a local camera repair shop to have both lens and camera *thoroughly* checked out (that implies don't use the kit for any important stuff until it has been checked). If the Tamron is indeed suspect, chuck it out and invest in a Canon, and there are plenty of not-so-expensive Canon EF lenses to satisfy your needs.7. From : Per Worbeck (nomail@remarks.com)
