The LCD displays EOS-1 is something like this: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/eos/EOS-1/lcd/lcddisplay.htm as for the dotted lines at the bottom, you will need to open the palm door at the side of ghe camera and press the bc (icon with battery sumbol) to check the status; ie.e it will not shown on normally at the top LCD panel and need activation on battery check before it will show.. still blinking .. may be you have bought battery cells that was not sold out since 1993, (kidding ..).3. Interesting website (esp with its openly shown development progress). Tons of info for me digest, since it is now ready, cannot provide my views on the usage of the electronic applications employed in the EOS-1N yet (should be able to add and make your site better).
It has the basis to categorize it a very high quality EOS resource site in the making, please carry on with your excellent development works.. regards, from C.A. Thank you.6. From : Geofrrey H. WIllgate (thanks@nospam.com)

Just wish to leave a THANK YOU note to the creator of this wonderful site. It gives me an idea how my Canon evolved itself from the time and history chain. The previous source for my knowledge is mainly via Canon Museum, this place is FAR better than that on Canon camera after the '70, awesome content postings !!!7. for the gentaleman who asked for the Rebel-G, there is an instruction manual link for immediate download, the problem is, resources are readily available but no one bothers to check and prefered to post and ask, funny ... save you the troubble, copy and paste this URL: http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/eos/eoscamera/EOS500nRebelGKiss2/index.htm
go to the bottom section, there is a LINK for the download, just click on it (I cannot help you with this simple task ...)
