Wayne, Welcome to the F4 board. I also have been on the F3 board for several years, and have enjoyed it thoroughly. Also recently transitioned from F3HP to F4, and am enjoying learning the ins and outs of that camera. Walt McKinney2. From : GEn Holst (genholst@excite.co.uk)

Started shooting Nikons in the late 1960s. Was out of photography for about 20 years. Now I have a Nikon FM, F3 HP and recently acquired an F4s. I also collect rangefinder cameras from the Soviet era.4. From : Sam Coyle (samcoyle@hotmail.com)

I have several Nikon Pro bodies used for backup at weddings, N90s,F4,& others. The F4 has developed a problem. After shooting part of roll, the camera won't focus. This happens part of the time with no pattern. All other fuctions are normal. Anyone out there have comments. Thanks!5. From : Gen Holst (genholst@excite.co.uk)

Mike, If the camera has not had batteries installed and perhaps left in the camera, it will probably work just fine when you put some batteries in it and fire it up. The stories you hear about using lithium batteries in the F4 are just that, and they work quite well. To give you some peace of mind, you could take it to a camera shop that deals in professional cameras, and let someone there check it out. If its been in the box and unused all that time, its probably OK.Walt8. From : Walt McKinney (Waltavion@AOL.com)

I have been offered a new, unused and boxed Nikon F4 with a serial number starting 24 maikng it about ten years old. My question to anyone who might know these things is whether the camera, having lain so long unused is likely to badly need a complete service, or whether the internal lubrication etc will be as good as new. Any advice would be appreciated!10.
