Daniel, You can remove the MB-21 from the F4 body and then slide the MB-20 in place. There is no need for anything extra in order to attach the MB-20. For what its worth they go on Ebay regularly enough. good luck3. From : Tim Jagielski (chaparal@execpc.com)

For Dan Miller: I understand the MB20 can be retrofitted to a F4S. Here is the link to a fairly comprehensive F4 website: www4.ncsu.edu/unity/users/j/jnwall/html/f4faq.htm. Section 8.8 indicates that any battery pack can be fitted to the basic body. I don't know if you will need additional covers, plates, etc to cover connection ports. With the F3 I know that you must remove a cover when you connect a MD4. While the MD4 contains a storage compartment for the cover, many F3's are missing the cover because the cover was not stowed in the MD4 compartment. Good Luck Tim4. Hi, I had the good fortune to obtain a F4S with the MF-23. The serial number is 24xxxxxx and the body is in great shape. The MF-23 however is looking a little rough although all functions seem to work, I'm a little worried about a crack which is .25 inches in length in the upper rh corner if looking from the rear of the back. I covered it with electrical tape for now but would like to find a permanent solution to prevent the crack from becoming a large crack in the future. I'm considering super glue or epoxy to solve the problem, any thoughts, has anyone had a similar experience and how did you fix it? One last question, after loading film and shutting the camera back I notice a little play in the databack door area where it latches to the body, is this normal? I'll find out tomorrow if it is light tight or not. I purchased the back for $139 with instruction book and really want it for the in frame printing ability and trap focus with my long lenses, 300 f4 AF Nikkor and 400 f5.6 MF Sigma both lenses used with TC-16A which maintains AF ability in good light with the Sigma lens btw. Thanks for your input, Mark :-)7. From : derek (dkleinfeldt@canada.com)

Gomez, the ONLY source is via Nikon, I think they charge approx. USD15 per copy. May be try to talk to them nicely and see if you can get a free copy. Jim, the best way is to send back to Nikon, but before that, write to them and seek the best advice what to do, next, the Nikon F4 is the first pro Nikon F model that enables the servicemen to find out even how many exposure cycles that your camera has gone through, although they might not tell you if you don't ask, but the data can be extracted. Q/ I have an F4S, very clean, later ser# 258xxxx. Problem is, with every roll of film, after I take about 5 or 6 pictures, red alert LED blinks and shutter locks. Thereafter, problem repeats itself in a random manner. Film is usually discarded without being processed. Can anyone point me in the right direction here? Is next step to ship it to Nikon? Thanks.
