Nikon F4 ? Hmm ... A long story, lost my entire set of Nikon at the train station of Montevideo back in 1994. I dont' excactly remember the Data Back was a MF23 but it was a plain databack with serial number and date imprinting. I have skipped photography for almost a decade and has just been using an Olympus P&S. Lately, a friend from a local store has asked whether I'd love to have a complete set of Nikon F4s with flash and 5 Nikkor lenses in place. I could not get an indicative price of a equivalent F4 + accessories but has to was led to this place via a suggestive auction link at Ebay. WOW - I must say this is absolutely impressive ! Looks like your reviews are quite addictive to read on (the lens compatibilty section is very logical for a casual shooter like me) and I am getting a little excited now, probably, I should go back and do some bargaining. Thanks for the greatnesss. Cheers. GM, Boston, Massachusets.7. From : Co-maintainer (info@mir.com.my)

Update: A few wrong links at the bottom sections of all the pages have been patched. A short briefing on Nikon F4's variations has been added and lastly, special thank to Mr. Ravi Swami for being so nice to inform me relating to display problems with PCs. All pages with the wrong tags have been found and fixed, it should be working fine now. Cheers.8. From : James Katz (james@artsybrides.com)

Congratulations and thank you for such wonderful tributes you've made for Nikon's F4. I am a working pro specialising in portraits and wedding documentary. This is the 12th year of my working relationship with the F4. Instead of forsaking it for F5 or whatever, I have even upgraded it 2 weeks ago with the brand new MB-21 and now it's F4s. It costs me a whopping RM720/=. This is probably the best compliments I can ever make for F4. Why ? As a user and current owner of no less than 14 camera bodies and host of lenses from big boys such as Hasselblad,Rolleiflex, Leica, Nikon F4 has been the most productively used gear. The addition of MB-21 battery pack is like injecting steroids into an athlete's body. Faster mirror movement, film transport, better grip, vertical shooting convenience, much enhanced stability from added weight, greater asthetic looks and collection value based on G.Giugiaro's original intention and design. Need I say more ? Thank you again for such insurmountable efforts you put in to create this special web page so timely in celebration of the F4's attributes. Long live the F4.9. tonyt: According to all sources, that is exactly the difference. The US market models have the faint "USA" engraved, while non-US models do not have that. You might try www.nikonians.org for further information. It is a wealth of Nikon knowledge and a very friendly crowd. Greetings from Frankfurt/Main (Germany), Roland10. I wish someone could help me on this one. How do you tell the difference between a used USA or Gray Market F4 camera? I noticed on the used F4 that I just purchased that the the word USA is in a faded gray (deliberate) before the serial # which is white, is this gray market or USA? Thank you tonyt
